a couple of days ago I learned  that my old friend and one of my heros Ted Childs died today. I heard from my friend Nick. Ted was the head of HR at IBM for many years. To me he was the the first peerson who really spoke about the laege (>200K) number of technical  people at IBM as a ‘community’.. He did so much for that community . He was a real force for diversity of all kinds.. mostly of diversity of thought.. aHe made a huge impact on the culture of our company..    and he was an amaziblgy good and nice person. 

I had to let that sink in a while

the day was snowy.. we meat our good freinds Jane . george and their dog milo for a short hike and then a yummy breakfast down in Charlotte.. which is about half way between us. Always great catchign up with them

later on I worked on a simple fiber-optic Strom for a project. I’m doing at work spend some time making time stand still that was fun.

then quiet dinner and a movie with the worlds finest food (mac and cheese)
