Saturday night – Spring walk, Tramp, Windows, tesla and Kennys

Busy spring day.. came down stairs to see this picutture of our old kitchen circa 1986.. its where our mudroom is now.. braught back some nice memories..

then dian and I toolk a hike up the sap lines next to the adaptive mountain biking trails.. beutuful trails connected to teh cross state catamount trail.. not much visited I think

next job was to photograph our old trampline.. we’re moving it on after many years of jumping kids, and sleeping dads (I used to take work calls on this thing and often fell asleep). .. free to a good home !

then the ulimate rites of spring (requires stravinsky soundtrac).. diane and I took down most of the down stairs srorm windows, 3′ x 7[‘ aa12 panes of old glass and ancient frames.. its always an adventure.. its nice to have thhme down.. not only can we let in some air.. but the sounds come in now

Then I took apart my old travel tesla coil.. it went to a hackathon with a friend and somehow broke.. I opened it to discover both IGBT’s in its high voltage half bridge were blown .. as was the fuse that had literally exploded. I took about 50 pics to see what kind of IGBT replacements.. and after much work with light and camera p;acement got a decent pic and ordered replacements

then later in the afternoon we met deb o at the kennys for a really nice dinner.. One cool thing is that Jen.. whos a wonderful potter’.. had aquired this beautiful raku vase,., she had soem story about its hsitory and thoguth it had been amde by my freind Steve in Boston. Jen knew of Steve because he made a chawan (japanese tea bowl) every day for a year after his son Jared had died from brain cancer.

Jen was making pottery daily in memory of her wonderful daughter.. and our friend ..Marie when she died in 2021.

It was such a strange coincidence that Jen came to have this vase. I’ll check with steve to confirm its his and get the story of how it got to be in Vermont

we had a really nice time hanging out on the kenney’s porch watching the wildlife.. woodchuck, deer and some pretty amazing birds… what a special place .

great day !
