It’s almost 2AM.. I’m finally sitting down to blog after a busy day.. I’d planned to take the day off.. but ended up working until 5:00 ..
I was psyched because tonight Gabe and I and several of his friends were going to do Scareforce at the Haunted forest. It’s been a family tradition for abut 10 years..w e dress in black and then scare the @#$% out of folks going through the trails of the haunted forest. We got there about 6 to find out that they were already full for the night. I had to use my full Jedi powers to get us a place in the forest..
First stop for me was to check out Project x and see if it was running.. it wasn’t. it’s arm had fallen off yesterday and none had fixed it.. we bolted and tiewraped it back on.. I tried to repair the pneumatics.. but one of the hoses appeared damaged.. even so.. we got the thing working.. and it performed quite well. They have it set up behind a wall. it’s really effective as it comes up and talks. They have a GREAT guy on the voice.. very convincing.
being here brought back so many good memories of being here with all three boys.. all three kids were in scare force. Max was an actor.. and I believe dinae , max and sam were all guides at one time or another. I stuck a AmaStone on the beast because I was thinking of sam
here’s our fearless crew.. Ben and John and another gentleman .
I got away from tere after about an hour and went off to find gabe and his freinds at the other side of the trail
my job was to stand near the crowds and distract them so gabe and freinds coud jump out an scare.
here’ I am lit up lke an xmas tree.
here’s gabe in his stealth outfit ..
here’s me in my not so stealth outfit .. I’m wearning a paper tablecloth I found on the ground.
here’s our new freind star (aka morning star) .. a very interesting woman playing the saw.. very incredible.
It was almost idnight when the last group went throgh.. we were all exhausted.
OK.. now I just gotta sleep.. more tomorrow..
nite all, nite sam

Hello. My name is Mikko. I recently finished watching the first season of The Colony. I just wanted to say that without knowing you personally, you’ve become on the most inspirational people I’ve ever seen. I’m a 22 year old Computer Engineering student at a community college in California. I’ve been at this community college for a very long time. I was a very good student in high school but I’ve lost motivation in college because of depression due to the many unfortunate things that have happened in my life. I am now currently on academic probation struggling to get back on track. I am a geek at heart and absolutely love Physics, Calculus.etc… and used to spend lots of my time applying what I had learned in everyday life; from optimizing the screen size, placement, distance of my family’s television for maximum viewing pleasure to finding the perfect gear ratio for my dad’s gokart. I miss those days.
I came across The Colony on Netflix yesterday and decided to give it a try. From the very first episode, I was hooked to the show. The way you and the other colonists were able to solve problems with just the tools at your disposal was something I was completely admire. I kept watching episode after episode just to see how you would solve the problems you and the colonists faced with your ingenuity, using your vast knowledge of Physics, Chemistry, etc… I finished the whole season today.
What was definitely the most inspirational aspect of you was that you suffered a terrible loss in the family, but you were able to keep your head above water. My depression was caused by much less and yet succumbed to it. You, however, did not. You found strength and comfort in your family and with your knowledge of the sciences. Your outlook on live is very admirable.
Today, I cracked open one of my old Physics books to refresh what I had learned years ago. It’s almost as if I had renewed my passion for engineering and acquired a new motivation to wake up in the morning.
I hope that if I were to be trapped in a post-apocalyptic world, I would have half the knowledge and strength that you have. Who knows, maybe I’d be called “The Professor” too; crazy hair and all. =P I know it’s cheesy.
Best,
Mikko
