We live in beautiful Richmond Vermont. Richmond is located in the western foothills of the Green Mountains on the eastern edge of the Lake Champlain valley. The Winooski River bisects the town of 4,090 residents from east to west, as does Interstate 89, the New England Central Railway and U.S. Route 2. The Town was organized in 1795 and is recognized for being home to the National Historic Landmark Old Round Church, a 16-sided church built in 1813, considered to be among one of the first community churches in the country.
Diane and I were married in the Round church on Aug 31st, 1986
Diane and I have lived in The Old Jonesville Schoolhouse since 1982. The Schoolhouse was built around1868 and served as an all grades school, then a highschool until 1955. It then served as the town Grange.. until being abandoned in the 1960’s.The town was considering tearing down the building, but In 1973 it was purchased from the town by Mel McNeil for about $10,000. In `1977 he sold the building to Michael Saxe, a medical student at UVM. I purchased the house in august of in 1982
