Greetings from Cambridge. Super busy day getting down to and being in Cambridge. Nice dinner with my friend Hendrik to round things out.
Get back to the hotel around 10 PM to find good news from two of my friends. They both got promoted in their respective jobs. Both really big and well deserved promotions.… It made me so happy to hear in both cases
It got me thinking… What is the opposite of the word “schadenfreude”… The German word for taking pleasure in the missfortune of others.… There must be a word for taking pleasure in the joy of others…. And there is!
I thought that would be a 20 letter German word but I didn’t really find one .the best word I found was “Mudita” a Sanskrit word which means
Muditā (Pāli and Sanskrit: मुदिता) means joy; especially sympathetic or vicarious joy.
I invite you to take joy in the fact that I’m happy that I found that word!
Nite all, nite Sam
