We said goodbye to our beautiful Chai Baby today… the day she turned 17 years old. She was the best dog.. the best friend.. loving , beautiful and quiet.. curious an smart.. and alway by our sides.. It was so hard saying goodbye.. but it was time.. she let us know that she wanted to go… and today.. surrounded by everyone who loved her.. she crossed over.
we new this would be the day.. so he spent most of yesterday by her side. Max and I even slept beside her last night… We all slept peacefully
this morning she was peaceful and had good energy.
Gabe, Max and I took her down to the river as I have done every day for the last… Who knows how long
we spent the rest of the morning just sitting beside her holding her and rubbing her. Talking to her..
We found some stuff she can eat. She had some Dutch babies with maple syrup and some of her favorite Cabot sliced American cheese… Was time she’d really eaten in several days
I was so happy that both max and Gabe and tBecky and Sammantha were here.. and I know Chai as happy they were here, too
We could feel Sam nearby too
Around 12:30 colleen… Our wonderful holistic vet showed up and we catch outside to the garage. We put some heaters in there and put her on her bed… A place where she loves to hang out.… It was a very peaceful time
We are plenty of time to say goodbye…
It was so hard to say goodbye other.. but it was the right time and the right way..
We’re still crying.. yet we feel better.. and we know she does too..
We have a zillion pictures of Charlie over the last 17 years… But I think this will come out over the next couple of days. Right now I just got a sick bus wonderful friend… She was there for some of the best and some of our stops for us. She was always there with love and attention
We will all miss her so very much
I was really missing sam today.. here’s one of my favorite pictures of sam and chai
goodbye chai baby.. we will love you forever !

Sorry John and family. I hope you guys will be able to get a new dog or two when the time is right. “Youth in Asia ” … That’s what I interpreted euthanasia as the first couple times I heard the term. That was a lovely ending to a Dog’s life. Live life like a dog and the world would be a better place I think. Sad Chuck
Sending all my love to you and the entire family, John… such a beautiful and peaceful way to say goodbye to Chai baby. I’m sure that she and Sam are already running around together in heaven, playing in the snow and swimming in the rivers 🙂
