We spent the morning. and a good part of the afternoon prepping for our short trip to the sunburn festival. It’s only 16 miles out of Santa.. but a completely different world. . We hit three different stores in search of food, drink and supplies.. It was hard work in the 90 plus degree heat.. but we got it done, i
ncluding buying 160 dollars in fuel for our generators.. not the greenest festival in the world for sure 🙁
We made the quick 30 min trip out to Sunburn.. It’s a regional burning man group event.. and this is our second time coming as a family. The event is held at Eaves movie ranch where Sunburn happens. (Check out Eaves.. you’ve very likely seen movies that were filmed here)
Our camp is called the F*cking Unicorns and is made up of many friends of Max and Beck (and ours) ,.. Many who work or worked at MeowWolf.. the Interactive Experience venue. .. Last time we were here we were running the Brothers.. this year our venue is the church.. ..
We spent the rest of the afternoon setting up camp and exploring the place and the people. Its a small event.. only 350 people.. and even smaller this year because many folks had to bail because of covid. We’re all testing regularly here
Here are some scenes of setup and our first night here.
Great 2nd night camping in our van
