Wednesday night – Greenway

After work, I had a meeting up in Montpelier this late afternoon. The organization. FIRSTinVT I’m part of got a renewal of an incredibly generous grant from the Argosy foundation to help further spread first robotics challenge across Vermont. I’m happy to say that we are going to be having a team starting in Montpelier. It will be a combination of Montpelier high school’ and U38 High school and we’ll meet on the campus of the brand new Greenway University, which is going to the old Vermont college buildings in Montpelier. Greenway is starting up a maker based undergraduate program very much like old in college. The head of Greenway is my friend Mark Somerville, who is a founding member of Owen. It’s going to be all projects with a sustainability mindset. It looks possible that. the first robotics teams are going to be able to meet there and build the robots there and have Greenway students as informal mentors. I’m super excited. At one part of the meeting, I realize that one of the first coaches Ruben is actually my friend Russ’s son!

A small world Vermont thing.

Afterwards Diane and I met in Waterbury is a surprise to join gizmo’s birthday party… So we had a wonderful dinner with gizmo and Lauren and then went back to their house for cake. It was great to be there for gizmo’s birthday. He’s such an amazing person…

Happy birthday GIzzo.. we’re glad you were born !

Tuesday night – yoga !

I was Open Saint Helens today for a work experiment.… My friend Kyle showed me his “new” 1980’s truck. He drove it all the way up here from somewhere down south… And he made it!

Tonight was yoga night and soup night… My favorite weeknight. Always wonderful seeing these people.

Monday night – gorge-ous

Super busy and fun day have worked… I was up in Saint Helens running some experiments. I love that stuff.

After dinner, Diane and I took a fast walk up to the gorge. The water is running so hard there. It’s so impressive and beautiful .

ps. OnBoard gave out its 1000th Grant to students to build their first printed circuit boards.… Super excited about that.

Sunday night – Dam straight

We went to a very interesting meeting at the library today to hear our friends Lou and Fritz talk about the Gillette pond project. It’s been years in the making but now we have a new dam and the pond is back up to historic levels. It was so interesting hearing about the history of the place and the history of the fundraising and construction project that God is back to this. It was really inspiring. We love that pond and are so glad it’s getting preserved

Later on in the evening, we went over to our neighbors, Bob and Amanda’s for drinks and snacks. Our other neighbors and friends Veronique, Matt and Francesca also came.… Francesca is now taller than Diane.

It was fun seeing some of Bob and Amanda’s pictures… bob’s mom was a friend of ours… Never got to meet his dad.

Bob also is one of the states highest blood, and fur donors… He’s got all sorts of stuff to show for that.

great getting to hang out with the neighbors !
