iane and I took a fun ice hike this morning up preston brook in Honey Hollow,, its so beautiful this time of year

the crazy ice patterns got us thinking about how the ice is formed. We actually captured a revolving ice ‘island’ get captured by the ice

Spent the rest of the day coxy in our house workign on projects.. gettign ready for Gabe’s staging here .

Happy New Year everybody. We gotta make it a good one. !

DIane and I started the year with a great hike .. 

We had a quiet day around the house.. Early evening we went out to dinner at Tuscano’s with Deb.. then headed to the Gogol Bordello show..    Our friends Hans Maarten and Kim were there.. ran into my buddy Kyle R and Erik ..  

THe show started wth a band Puzzled Panterh that Eugene also played with.. THey were great 

then Gogl Bordello started their set. It was great.. Eugenes parents were in the audience.. Eugene made many shoutouts to his Burlington roots  through the show

Our friends Suze and  Hans Marten and their son Illya and their freind Kim were all up from NYC for NYE.. We saw them all last night on Fluffy.. tonight, Suze and Illya stayed home.. mut Hans Maarten and Kim were here.. Suze called in to say hi !

Last year we waited aroudn and got to spend soem time with Eugeene and the band..   Tonight we diecided we really wanted to head home and sleep !  

So we did !

today is new years eve and we’re prepping to spend the day and night on Fluffy down by the waterfront as part of the annual highlights festival

before we left. our neighbor Carlee came over ot introduce us toher new puppy Oaklee 

Then off to fluffy.. we were there from 2pm until about midnight .. 

It was cold and windy.. .. but super fun 

What a great time.. We saw so many friends !!!!

we got home  by 11. listened to my favorite version of Auld Lang Syne

We got our stuff ready for an early morning departure.. 6 bags including a cicroscope !

We took a look around our lovely  Airbnb.. its run by our freonds Molly and Gail..and their sweet dog Alva. 
its been like a 2nd hoem for us. its so bright and cozy and so close to Gabe !

 

Gabe picked us u .. and we were off !

THen Gabe came by and picked us up and we were off

We had a great seat mate.. all the way from Portland to chicago.. he was headign to bruling ton too. Great story teller

we got to meet his and his partner Dan’s dog  Templeton at the other end
