This evening we had a nice small gathering at the house It was for Diane’s ‘boot camp’ group. These wicked strong ladies.. amazons in the truew sense.. . meet at 7 on mondays and thursdays for a hard core outside workout rain, shine or snow. Carol is the fearless leader. They even workout when it’s 8 degrees out. They are a really fun group..
It was so fun getting together and showing them our crazy house !
Today was the big push to reinstall Fluffy’s clouds in prep for our shwoign at the Burlington New Years Eve festival. DIane and I got there at 8 am and worked with Duane, Rob, Amey and Marie to get the Driver side clouds up. We were able to get them up and workign in 3 and a half hours. A new record. !
When we were finished with fluffy, we went up to Generator for their makerfaire.. we were a bit early so we walked up and down Pine street and did a little window shopping. It was cold and windy.. not a soul out.. Kinda fun !
We got into generator and check out the wares there.. some really nice stuff. ! Lots of creative people ! Sorry I didn’t get any pics pf their stuff !
We woke to a nice dusting of snow. .. We took advantage of the day to do a fast climb up to the Duxbury Window.
THis evening we held the BETA makersfaire. Thats where all of BETA employees and ‘BETA Adjacents’ (eg BETA Friends and family’ came together to show off their own crafts.
I’m bringing the alia ornaments that Max and DIane have been helping me with. We got the last of the ribbons on this morning. Lots of tying !
I showed up about 3 to help with the setup of the makerfaire. BETA has sooooo many clever and crafty people. , I was really looking forward see their wares !
I set up in a. corner next to Charlotte aand Ruby
The makersfaire was so great.. lots of beautiful work. and beautiful people !
By the end of the night I’d sold over $2000 of the ornaments which sold for a suggested donation of $15. Early the next day we turned that into a $4000 dollar donation to Toys for Tots VT.
Yesterday I got a package from Max. In it were 210 Alia ornaments . He cut them out of 18 gauge colled rolled steel using the 5KW laser he has access to at work. The employees there are able to use the tools as long as they are not using them for commercial purposes.
We’re selling these at the BETA Makerfaire to raise money for Toys for Tots. . !
Max did the hard part by cutting these out. Diane and I broke out the open spaces. Then I spray coated them with acrylic. FIanlly we cot and tied them with ribbons. .. All for a good cause !
