Another work. day.. we took a really nice break to go to Ojo Santa Fe.. it’s a spa just outside of the city with heated water pools and really beutiful grounds … quite. atreat 

Max brought. his mushroom tarot deck.. I drew the Knoght of Wands.. the card presenting magic mushrooms !   ( a long time favorite 🙂 

The inscription actually was great.. “ tying into theories of mind-expansion, sudden bursts of insight, and leaping fearlessly into new mental territories. ” ..

then home for a cookout

Diane had collected soem great baby shower gifts.. Max and Becky are asking people to consider givign them used stuff in order to require less new stuff in the world.. Diane honored that by bringing soem great stuff she’d found at a baby clothes exchange near us.. and by bringign stuff from our own supply.. including the blanket be brooaught max back from the hospital in (completel withe ‘do not steal this blanket’ label 🙂 .. a quilt dinaes mom had made, soem oufits from all three of our kids.. and even soem baby clothes that diane had worn as a baby 65 yrears ago !!!!

Then we had our welcome new human cake.. 

and tehn we started our slide shows. I sytareted it with my quick 5 minute runtrhough of diane and my 44 years together in honor of our coming 40th anniversary . Gabe and Mya did a super fun space themed one. George did a piece on their safari trip..

Another day of working remotely… and helpgin max and becky get their house ready for baby

After a day of work. we all decided to go to one of our favorite southwestern places.. it’s called Gabriels and its a little out of town.. we love the food and the atmosphere.. ewe especially love their sopapillas !

Another day of working at max and beckys.. the heat is pretty crazy.   We took breaks in the middle of the day to stay cool. 

I am doign BETA work out here too.. so I had ssome good cool uniterupted time in the AC to work on that . 

I got a chance today to connect with my old friend and colleague Prof Joenn Ploenning. from U of Rostok in Germany. H’e s invitted me to give a talk.. I’m super excited to see him again. We worked together in Muncih for several years 

This afternoon,w e decided to head in to the mountains to try and escape the heat.. so instead of 100 degrees, we had 85.. degrees.. but t was still a big improvement. We did the Bog Tusegue loop .   Super fun having Gabe and Mya here too 

Around 7 we headed up to Canyon road for a monthly art walk. tehre were food vendors.. lots of people.. still super hot 

Totally coincidentally, we ran into our friends Danny and MJ who’ve moved out here from Vermont. They have a bagel business.. and thats something that Santa Fe really needs !. It was great catching up with them !

I mentioned yesterday that we’re all putting together 5 min slide shows abotu our past year as part of the baby shower.. I’ve still not settled on a topic. My first idea was to talk about the fun i’ having with Hackclub attending there events all over the place. (spoiler alert.. I later decided to do something else ) .. but as part of this topic.. I was thinking of telling the story using snapshots from my cheap kids thermal paper camera 

At the ever-present risk of makign things too complicated, I bought an old receipt printer and hacked it to scan in all these pictures from all the hackclub events.   It was so fun writing all that code.. and then using it to revist all the fun at those events. 

we spent the day helping max and becky with thezilkions of things aroudn thereir house.. they’ve just finished major renovatons to their house to make a new bedroom.. and we’re workign to help them move in, and recover from all the contruction. Lots of work.. 

Its crazy hot here.. Diane ansd I have rented a house with George and Doreen a coulle of blocks from max and becky. Thank goodness its airconditioned.. Its been close to 100 every day. 

we did ventrure out in the heat to check out one of the modern art galleries in the nearby rail yard.. soup er cool stufff 

I went down another rabbit hole later in the day as part of the slide shows we’re doing. I tried to find pictures of critters our cameras have caught in dianes gardens over the last year. here’s a small sampling

Max and becky have a wasp nests in their electrical inlet to the house. Max baught a bee suit to protect him self as he handles it.. I’ll let you know how that comes out 

End of another day.. always enjoy remembering all the fn stuff we see out here.. Sant Fe-ans have strong opinionxs .. most of which I agree with
