Freind Mason came over and gave us a new threshold. The old one had been there for more than 150 years in one form or nother.. and it hd welcomed hundred of kids over the year when this was a school.. but more recently its been allowing curious mice to visit. I ripped up the old threshold, then Mason routedd it flat and level and replaced it with a new piece of Oak. Looks so good !!

Started thinking today whether I should make something to sell at the BETA makerfaire.. the last couple of yers we’ve made over $1000 for toys for tots.. I’m thinking I might make a blinky ornement.. went hunting for designs..  Maybe something based on Alia ?

Today was halloween.. it had always been  one of our family’s favorite  holidays.. but now without kids in the house.. and can be a little sad. We make it better by goign out trick or treating ourselves..  we only had one trick or treater.. as usual.. it was Carlie from next door.. She was a Bee !

To make things a little tougher this yaer, there was a cold drizzle.. but we headed dow to Richmond anyway.. We were glad we did.. the rain let up a little bit.. andkids ans parents were out in full fource. We did our normal walk up and down, then settled in for a short visit at Gretchen and Marshalls. Marshal was givien out hot fresh doughnuts.. and we added a bag of candy to Gretchens buig pot. There were hundreds of kids coming though.. super fun.. 

It started to rain again just as we’d had enough candy to last s. We went back home and cuddled up by the TV>. the perfect end of a halloween evening.

ps. I had my annual physical today (went well) Jack had this on his wall 🙂

I was in the shower this morning when  our freind rachel came by.. Iopend the window to say hi and he took this picutre.. 

a good start on the day. I’m giving a talk on the  Colony today.. and gettign photographed while taking a shower is part of that too !> 

TH talk was at 12:30.. .. I was. a little nervous until Istarted talking.. and the next thing I kew it was over. It was so fun.. I could tell that most people liked it !.. I was super relieved    afterwards ,.. I had soem fun conversation with co-workers after the talk.. it was good to hear their questions. 

around 4:30 my freidn Karen W came by for a tour of BETA. she’s an old freind who now lives in Switzerland . . She’s back to see some friends.. It was great showing here around S40 ..   Karen has a company that does sustainability analysis on buiding like this.. She really liked seing the S40 systems.

Karen couldn’t  stay long.. .. sue r nice to catch up
