MOnday night – MayDay

Happy May Day everyone.. Today was beautiful./ feels really like spring is here. Mid morning, Conor. Caleb, Maggie and Maggies parents came by Beta for a tour. Conor and Caleb’s dad, Jim decided to stay home. They’ve been surrounded by friends and relatives who were in for Conor and Caleb’s ‘s mom Rose’s funeral this weekend. The whole family was tired and in need of some. I was happy to show them around BETA.  ..

I  was very happy to give them something fun to do.  The whole family is very much in our thoughts.

Sunday night – Lemon car

Woke to a Wet and chilly day which reminds us that April can go both ways.   We took a quick hike up Duxbury window to get our blood going.

We had a date to go down to Lincoln to meet new friend Will and see the Lemon car he’s building for burning man.   We picked up our freinds Tim and Priscilla on the way since they live just aroudn the corner

Will’s art car is a wonder !. Its built on a small kubataa 4×4 with a lift. Its made out of spray foam on a steel welded frame and does magic with space. THere’s a compfortable driving platform at the top complete with extended pedals and and steering. A coy place for two at the fron and the most amazing ‘womb’ inside … it’ll be totally dark and airconditioned in there whch will be a great haven in the heat of the desert

but wait.. tehre’s more

When you operate the lift, the front of the car opens to reveal a lemonade stand.. AMAZING !

I’m helping Will a.little with the design of his lights and fire.. its goign to be a hit out there I’m sure

We also got to look around Camp Zeno.. a camp that Will and his family run for differently able kids.. Its a legend around here.. Such a great space !

We headed back to Tim and Priscillas // hung out there and saw Lee and his wife…

then ehaded home..

Perfect Sunday !

Saturday night – Downtown

Our friend Tim had heart valve surgery a few weeks ago and has been self quarantining since then ..  Today was his first day. to go out in public. In celibration. Tim, Jen , Diane and I  decided to make a day of it downtown. First stop was another visit to the AI Art Show at the Burlington City Arts. This is the third time we’ve seen the show, and the first for them. My friend Chris Thompson curated the show … and from what i’ ve heard, it’s been the most popular show at BCA in many years. It was really well done.. and perfectly timed given all the conversations about AI going on in the post-chatgpt world.
The show is really fun… thoughtful, provocative.. even fun. .. Great job to Chirs and tall the artists who made this happen !

We ended our walk with a nice meal at Asiaana noodle house… It was so great being out with Tim and Jen.. Great to see Tim getting stronger by the day..

Friday night – bumper stickers

Fun day at work today.. two  of my coworkers  Chase and Phoebe took a dare and put their tongues on a small tesla coil. Ouch !

Later in the day I had lunch with Zach and Max at Hackkclub.. We’re cooking up a plan to get more high school kids interested in electronics by learning how to build custom printed circuit boards (PCBs). .Like this beautiful example of a PCB in the shape of Orpheous, the Hackclub mascot  by my friend Kevin.. a high school person in Mass.

You know hackclub is a special place when you see bumper stickers like this !
