woke up on the forth of july in canada.. somehow fitting given where our country is heading. these days.. 
I did notice that teh meds I take every day are still red, white and blue.. so im at least that patriotic still .. I’m not porud of what are govement is doign to our contry or its standing in the world.. but I’m still very proud to be an american . 

we headed down to the US late morning.. then spent a few hours workin around the house. About 4 we headed to shelbourne museum for a picnic,  a VSO concert… and fireworks.. 

They played the star spangled banner.. and I was oddly stirred.. again.. the more our country is loosing is principles of openness and , welcoming  to foreingers.. and being a strong and compassionate collaborative leader in the world.. the more dissalusioned I become with  our government.. 

but I still love our contry for what it still stands for.. ..despite what the current administration is trying to change.

Picnicing was great.. saw lots of freinds, ate soem great foods, and listened to a really fun concert..  lots of croud pleasers.. patriotic songs.. sousa marches, west side story.. it was fun in a kind of guilty pelasure kind of way

the fireworks were great !

Happy forth ya’ll ! lets take better care of our coutnry !

STarted the day with a quick hike up the duxbury window 

Late adternoon we made a spontaneous plan and headed up to Mpntreal with Deb.. It was Jazz fest and a band she’d seen at higher ground last week was playing.. Fantastic Negrito . aka Xavier Amin Dphrepaulezz,  . and she wanted us to see him and his band !  Kind of cool that we could decide to head to another country with so little planning. 

we’re not Jazz people.. but Fantastic Negrito was so worth the drive. None of knew FN before this.. but he’s been around. he’s 57.. has won 3 Grammy’s (!!!) and has lived a very interesting life. His songs tell great stories.. and he’ and his band are excellent musicians. Check them out !!

after the show.. we hchecked out soem more music.. grabbed soem ice cream and headed back to Barry’s apartment for the night. Super nice to have a place to stay when we’re up here !

TOday was Canada Day..  O-canada !  made me mindful about how badly the US is treating our friends to the  north 🙁  🇨🇦

GOod day at work,, took 30 min to show my freinds Cathy and Analisse and their very nice families around S40.. 

 TOnight we had Yoga and salads.. too hot for soup.. Our amaerican canadian freinds and neightbors rim and marcie cam e dressed for canada day. Tim had a red maga-style hat that said ‘canada is already great’ !!!!  

after yoga.. diane and ii headed outside and surveyed  the wild beasts.. our yard is absolutely full of tiny cute bunnies !

and our skys are full of contrails that make cool patterns in the sky.. what are thye tryign to tell us ? ! ?
