Monday night – still see snow

I noticed this morning on the way to workthere’s still snow on Cochran Hill. That’s about a mile from our house and almost the same elevation.… I suspect this week will be the first that there is no snow anywhere except in the mountains. That’s OK I’m ready for spring.

After work, dynamite took a fast walk down to the lower gorge. The river is still up… And always beautiful… So are Diane’s flowers !

Saturday – Fluffy day

We’d all agreed to do a maintenance day on fluffy. Bernie man is coming up at the end of the summer and she still hasn’t been cleaned since last year… We gave her a stem to sterned brush out to get rid of all the dust we also did some other system maintenance. I did some maintenance on the fire system and on the light sys but others dust out of the speakers and got the audio stuff back in good shape. It was good to see her again.

Around 630 we all headed back to rebar and Shoshi’s for a potluck. We had planned to go out to a music festival called waking windows, but we accidentally had our own party instead.

Mid shenanigans, somebody yelled from the kitchen that there was an owl in the backyard and there certainly was !

then rebar got out his snake.. I think this one is a replacement to Clementine, who unfortunately died at beta

Shosh’s parents are horologist and collect snakes hence all the snakes in the house. I don’t mind them, but I don’t think Diane likes them much.

Friday night – across the lake

Diana and I took an adventure this morning… We drove up to Grand Isle and took the ferry over to Plattsburgh. We were taking advantage of a very low cost calcium scan that is offered over there $150  versus $2500 if done here in the state. It’s a general scan to see how much calcium is in the plaque and your heart arteries… It took zero time… What’s more is the office at this really weird taxidermy display in it creepy but fun.

Later in the day, we decided we would take defensive action on an invasive species that’s on our running trail… It’s called hogweed … And it is a very evil plant. It grows up very fast and it sap is an incredible irritate… If it gets on your skin, the moment that sun touches it you develop a rash that’s worse than poison ivy worse if it gets in your eyes, it can be blinding. Diana and I bought two advanced weeders and went to town. It looked like it was going to be fruitless… We both filled up two garbage bags of the stuff and hauled it back to the house… I think we made a dent in it, but will have to see.

We’re going to keep coming back until we’ve at least beaten this past back
