We had a great day today. I took a half-day so that we could hang out. Midmorning we Had planned to take a hike or a snowshoe. It was raining… But not so hard so we decided to go anyway. We had it up from the sugar shack on Bolton Access Road. There wasn't much snow at the bottom of the mountain but by the time we got to the top was more than a foot if you went off the trail. We followed the VAST snowmobile trail all the way to the top of the ridge. It's really beautiful out there… And we made a promise to ourselves to come back and do it during the summer. It's 11 mile hike from there back to our house and that would be fun to try.

We saw some good size moose tracks up at the top.

We got home right before it really started raining. Diane went off to teach and I went back to work and had a very productive day.

Around four we took off again because Diane wanted to see a movie on her birthday. Unfortunately we couldn't find anything we really wanted to watch so we headed and rented a movie and had a great Vietnamese dinner. And we came back and watched Not one, but two movies: first we watched Argow the movie based on true facts about the Iranian hostage crisis, and we just finished watching breaking dawn, the last in the twilight series. That's more movies that I watch in six months… But it was really fun.
Game came home from soccer around 930 with flowers for Diane and we then had birthday cake. It was really nice.

It's midnight so what a great birthday. Time for bed… (Actually I have some work to do now) more tomorrow

Sunday afternoon – easter

I was up 'till 3 last night writing code for the upcoming 'user required' show at the firehouse Gallery. I went to sleep happy because I gotten some code working. I was even happier when I slept until 9 o'clock. Getting a good nights sleep makes all the difference and I rarely do that when I get such a late night start.

This is been kind of a mix of things. We had a small Easter candy observance… It was tempered by a movie Diane had seen this morning called The bitter truth. Haven't seen the whole thing yet, but the part i saw was pretty eye-opening. It talks about how highly refined sugars are taking over our bodies. That really put the peanut butter egg. I was about to eat in a completely new perspective.

One thing that was on my mind today was our friend Dylan .. Who would have turned 20 today. Dylan died about 2 years ago. He was a very good friend of Sam's and a very good friend of Gabe's after sam died.

RIP Dyl.. We will never forget you.

Around 4 we had a meetup for code integration for the Floorish project At barns and noble.. Surrounded by students working on term papers, i had to suppress my normal mode of brainstorming which involves loud voices and much back and forth pacing.. Good progress but still so much to do.

Speaking of term papers.. Gabe is doing one upstairs.. I think I'm going to go see if i can help…

Happy easter folks…

It was great seeing how folks dressed for the unexpectedly warm and sunny weather.. I saw people out in shorts and others in down coats.. Most folks were somewhere in between. There's a funny hysteresis that occurs. This time of year. Temperatures that would have people reaching for their fleeces in October or November call for shorts and T-shirts in april .. Our blood has been chilling all winter, so even they tiniest glimmer of heat has us shedding layers

Hoping to get outside more tomorrow….

Friday night – seder

Just back from a lovely Seder at our friend Beth and Scott. The bonus was that our friends from New York Peter and Beth were also in town. I didn't realize until I just got home but I think of the whole room full of people only Peter and i were actually Jewish. The rest were Unitarians. I guess Unitarians are so inclusive that they will party with anyone.
