You ca tell that its turnign Fall. the windows and sides of our hosue are swarming with what look like lady bugs.. but these are asian lady beetles. Pretty nasty and everywhere/.
After work we had a really nice yoga and soup gethering . these are one of my favorite times of the week !
We started early at the nae this morning. Nice breakfast and networking. so so many freins.. Here are TC and Kerrie
Then after lunch we headed to the Kecl building for our Section meeting .. I’m in Section 7.. electronics.. these are now getting to be good freinds of mine
Diane met me at Keck and we got a ride to National. only to find that our plane wa goign to be delayed and we’d mis our conenction. We caught an ber to IAD.. and got home about the same time we intended..
Great day at the NAE. The fun part of today was seeing old friends and and getting to see some other friends get welcomed to the NAE
At breakfast I ran in to a ton of folks including my friend John. I’m actually using some of the National Instrument’s code that Johns company created at work now. .. I always enjoy talkign to him .
Saw Rory.. who’s a champion para olympics marathoner
First there a great welcoem talk from y freind Ts Jae who just became the President of the NAE. she used to be the Dean of Engineeerign at UCB. She’s a great proponent of SETM skills. I’m very happy shes in this new role
then it was time to introduce the new members. I had lots of friends and even family this time/ Here’s my friend TC
then my cousin and good friend Mark P ..I’m so happy to have him hee in the NAE. Mark is the CtO of AMD and is such a great leader of the semiconductor industry.. I’ve worked with him for many years.. Mark’s grandmother Keenie was my great-great aunt .
Then my good friend Linda, the provost at UVM.. and a huge supporter of FIRST robotics in the state. We work together closely at VASE.
The talks and socializing for the rest of the day was great. I spent my time looking for allies for some of my ideas of promoting electronic and semiconductor skills . This is a great place for networking !
After the reception. I went back and picked up Diane and we walked to the restaurant to celebrate with Mark, Kathy Josh and Sarah. It was really great catching up with them. Diane and I were at Josh and Sarahs wedding last year. . it was great to see them again . It was a great meal.. and really fun catching up !
great day .. I love seeing so many friends in one place
Diane and I had a completely free day in DCC today.. we used it really well. I think we ended up walking 15 miles ! We went for a run in the morning.. then headed to GWU to get a yummy beakast bowl.
we stopped at teh WW2 monument and put a samstone on the Vermont tower.. check out the sunbeam as it hit the samstone !!!
then we headed to the natural history museam for awhile. some of the museums were open despite the shutdown
Then we headed to the US Postal Service museum… We get down to DC fairly often so we’re trying to spread our view out… The reason we chose the Postal Service is that Anna had a book about a famous dog “oney” who is the mascot of US Postal Service the very end of the 1800s. He ended up traveling all over the country and world.. When only died, he was stuffed and putting in this museum kind of weird but kind of cool
check out where this stage coach was from 1!

We walked down to the waterfront to have a delicious fish and chips dinner. Everybody was celebrating Oktoberfest, including this doggy.
