Super excited about a project I’m h helping with at work. I’ve been learning about carbon composites. I’ve used carbon fiber before, but never learned how to make parts out of it. It’s amazing stuff.. its crazy that something that makes up most animal, and plant matter on the planet, part of our atmosphere, diamonds, pencil leads, and smoke can be woven into a material that’s stronger and lighter than aluminum or steel … We’re hiring people to help us assemble the carbon fiber components of our planes. if you or any of your freinds know about carbon fiber assembly and testing.. please let me know !
I vent talked about it here yet, but our good friend Aaron (aka Rebar) has left the company . We’ve all been missing him .. he’s such a wonderful person. Its really not the same without him .. I’m happy we’ll still get to hang out often as part of Fluffy and other stuff.. Gonna be interesting to see what he does next !
Today is my betiful gitlls birthday. Happy birthday my love !
We took one of our favorite hikes.. We walked the Duck book trail backwards.. well we didn’t walk backwards, but we did it the opposite way we usually do.. We parked a car up on notch road and then hiked from our house. It’s definitely a harder hike goign that way. Really beautiful today.. with not much snow left.
We sat for a good long while at our favorite beaver pond on the hike. We were really quiet and got to hear owls hoot, and woodpeckers, knocking and some other big animals moving outside of our sight

When we got home, there was a gift for Diane from Gabe. We had found these beautiful colored rocks on a beach on the terrane sea in Italy last September. They were particularly colorful, but like all colored rocks, they were less bright once they had dried off from the ocean. We had left them with Gabe to give them a try in his rock Tumblr. He polished them and sent them back to Diane for her birthday. They are really beautiful. Thank you so much Gabe !
We spent the rest of the day working in the garden including assembling Dianes new cold frames.. they are from austria and amazingly well made. They have a simple pneumatic device that opens and closes the top based on temperature !

We finished DIanes bruthday with a great meal at SPices of India ..
Got out for a hike we’d been meaning to take for a while. THere’s an adaptive mountain bike trail between our house and waterbury. It’s used by folks with different abilities to zoom down mountains on bikes.. wow !. The trails were so nice to hike. beutifully marked and banked. SO cool
Today is easter.. and I don’t knwo what to do with that anymore with no one around to hide candy for 🙂
