Tuesday night – Dave’s class

Late last night I realized that I was giving a remote lecture to my friend Dave’s systems engineering class at Virginia Tech.… This is a talk. I do every year on the Internet of things. I love doing these talks though. It’s hard to do them remotely. This was a pretty big class and there was lots of interaction which I enjoyed. I loved talking about the serious and not so serious parts of Internet of things.

You cant take tech too seriously !

But this afternoon.. weird stuff happened.. can go in to it here.. but there was a disturbance in the force

Sunday night – even more sharks !

Just when you thought it was safe to go in the water :-)… As we were leaving Cape Cod, we went through Jen’s brothers house to clean up and while we were at it, we found a whole lot more sharks. (see yesterday).

If my math is correct that means 97 shark sightings in this house alone 🙂

We headed out from Chatham and drove down to Falmouth to see our friends Scott and Indy and their young twins. Scott and Andy are friends of ours from New Mexico who we camped with at the sunburn festival…

It was great seeing them settled in Massachusetts and meeting these very cute kids. !

From there we headed up to New Hampshire to visit our niece Elizabeth and her two kids.

It was a short and sweet visit.

from there it was 3 hours home.. It was great to be back.. We missed a large snowstorm this weekend and there was just under a foot of snow everywhere. Beautiful… And shovel ready !

Saturday night – Baby shark , Baby Shark

Woke up and walked to great breakfast  burritos..

We are staying at Jen’s brother Frank and Vikis house .. Its a summer house with the main unifying theme of sharks !. I became determined to  photograph all the shark images in the house.. so here goes !

I think that was 49 Shark sightings just in the house

(Post blog update.. ! we found 11 more.. brining the total to 60 !)

We spent the rest of the day driving around the Cape .. The rainy day made it even Cape-ier.

First stop was Coco and Dans

We found a ton of skate egg cases.. which are called ‘devils purse’.

We stopped at the Brewster General Store which was filled with old WWII memorabilia > (huh ?!)

Then  we peered in the windows of the old Crosby mansion..

Then an attempt to see the herring run on the stoney brook river..No Herrings visible.. but  It was pouring so we weren’t too sad ..

Then Scargo tower.. the highest point on the Cape.. ..

Then nearby Scargo Pottery., a super cool pottery studio now run by the 2nd generation of potters in teh family

We winished the day with another great meal  at the Chatam  Squire with Tim, Jen, Coco and Dan

Great barn scene next door

We heard from home that it was still snowing.. but not as much as was expected..  Oh-well.

Such a. great day !…
