Today was my coworker and good freind Shannons 24th birthday birthday . Our freind Sophia had made a cake.. an I decorated it further with some LED lights I mad3e for SHannon as a birthday present.
Sophia<>Aaron and Kristen did all the organization.. We set up in a conference room.. then we tricked shannoninto coming over.. SHe was surprised and happy
At lunch I met Denise and Chris at The Spot to about more about their new AI initiative. They are working on ways to make Vermonters.. more AI literate.. with a strong focus on kids. I think it’ss goign to be a great help to bringing AI literacy to Vermont.
THere was a very sad part of this day as well. Rebar’s albino corn snake Clementine died today. Know one knows what happened. Yesterday she was alive and beautiful.. .. and today she was gone.
We’re all sad because she was a kind of friend to all of us in the creative team. Rebars saddest of all. He’s had Clementine for about 20 years.. .. He’s collecting pictures of clementine if you have any
Busy day.. It satrted with a 10 AM meeting in Shelburn with Rene Sanchezm the Superintendent of the Champlan Valley School District. Rene came up here from Texas where he was activly involved with FIRST robotics. He’s a huge fan of FIRST an is eager to help us build more teams in his district..
Our meeting was organized by CVU Students and former students.> Crawfor, a CVU grad and BETA intern lead the meeting and his CVU freinds Clay And James described the great success of FIRST at CVU.. They also talked about their outreach to nearby smiddle chools to help with FIRST lego league . It was super impressive to hear form him.
Als there were Joe, our FIRST State Cordinator, Scott our State FIRST Mentor *who drove up from Rutland), Olaf, the FIRST coach at CVU , and me.
Superintendent Rene was very receptive and had soem great odeas on how we could work together with him. He’s helping us apply for a spot on the agenda of the VT meeting of Priincipals an Superintendents later on in the spring He’s also goign to help introduce us to some potential industrial sponsors.. It was a great meetign with soem really good followups..
Kudos to Crawford, Clay and James for making this happen. And Depp thanks to Rene for being so receptive !
Work was really fuin and busy.. I got to demo my project to the rest of the team.. they seemed to like it.. whcih made me happy
At lunch we were all hanging around in the creative zone.. Clementine our mascot albino corn snake came out to play..

SInce I am alone in the house this weekend, I let my project (s) spread all over the place .. It wasnt a great day to be outside.. so I worked the whole day…
It was fun and exhausting.. Always fun to make a mess !
I spent the day working on my project. at home. It’s very satisfyung being able to jump nto a hardware/software project like this…
Mid day I took a break and took our freind Kristin out for lunch. Krisitn is one of our burning man crue.. and helped out quite a bit on FLuffy She’s had a tough couple of months. First she found out that she needed heart surgery and then found out she had another latent disease that needed treatment.
While she undergoes this therapy , She’s spending time with her family.. and doesnt have a chance to go out much. I decided it would be good for her and good for me to get out of the house today so I picked her up and we drove down to the Skinny Pancake on the waterfront. for lunch. It was great catching up with her.. She’s a really nice and interesting person. She told me about the work she does to get veterans together to talk… THants how she met Rebar !After lunch,.. we took a walk up battery street to see the old marble statues there.. one of my favorite things to do down by the woterfront.
THen I took her to her house.. and headed back home for a long afternooon and night of soldering and programming.. Its one of my happy places !
