Monday night – ramping down

Today people started to head back to where they came from . Gabe left first. Its always so nice to see him.. What an amazing man.

Then back home for a sleepy breakfast

From there we all went our differnt ways.. George Doreen Diane and Went up Honey Hollow to see soem foliage.. it’s one of our favorite walks

From there we met Max and becky at the udubon society trails for a second hike of the day. This place is really special to us.. we used to brign all the kids here when they were young. its where the haunted forest was born. !

Huh ?

We stopped by hunting gorge to show it to doreen and geoge.. (george, gorge .. hmmm ?)

When we got home George offered to show us a treat ((?) from his childhood. A peanut butter and miracle whip sandwich his mom used to make him.. Now i’]ve always thought that miracle whip was a kind of mayonise.. but not so..the label says that  it’s a mix of mayo and ‘dressing’ . Its much sweeter than hellmans..

Gotta admit it wasn as terrible as I thought !

Later in the evening we headed to Beta .. I wanted to give my Peeps a tour.. It was so fun.. Max flew the sim over to where our house would be… if it were on the map. You can see the intersection of the Huntington and the winooski where max and beck got married

home to sleep .. perchance to dream !

Sunday night – out-cider

We slept late this morning after the party. Actually we did a pretty good job of cleaning up the night before. Thanks to all the helping hands.

Our good freind rose from next door came over with a really nice gift she’d made more max and becky. Rose has known Mx since he was a few days old.

Somone found a pack f mushroom themed tarot cards so we all read ours.. I dont remember mine.. but it was a good one !  Oh yes.. it was “the hnged man” .. sounded bad.. but it’s ctually pretty good .. see below

Ever busy george took it upon himself t fix one of the benches from our table (actually hannahs table)    tjat we use together so many people/

When gabe came downstairs he brought with him. Some meticulously made notes about some  of the videos that we had digitized a couple of years ago. We spent a nice hour, looking at the pass… Seen ourselves our house, our kids, and of course a lot of Sam. Lots of laughter couple of tears.

Max hasnt really changed that much !

We finally wrangled everyoen into cars to go look at some of the beautiful scenery this time of year. Your original thought was to go up route 100 and over smugglers notch… But we figured that would be full of too many tourists so instead, we headed over towards  Monkton to go get fresh cider donuts and dreamies at Yates.  Dreamies are fresh cider donuts with maple, soft, serve ice cream, covered with maple syrup… You only need one per year 🙂   it was such  a beautiful day.. No sign at all that we got almost 2 inches of rain the day before.

Here’s the happy husband and wife team !

From Monkton we drove back to jericho center to visit our good friends chris and kim

Chris has been qorkign so hard ontheir house here’s the new kitchen.. this is basically where we were sawing aand nailing helping build a wood burn sculpture just a year ago . quite a transformation !

George and Doreen had a really  good time checking out chriss steampunk and stone art

we all moseyed (do we ever mosey  ?) back t the zip line which is behind  Chris and ‘Kim’s fire performance stage… The zip lines been there forever. We all take turns going on it so sketchy and so fun !.

\

hey !>. a rainbow !!!

We headed Home after that… I decided to go over and look at the intersection of the river. We’re back to becky and got married two days ago… It was under at least 2 feet of water… We planned that perfectly.

Then another great meal.. this one with magic flavor changing berries  ! After dissolving them in your mouth, they make everything sour taste, delicious the suite for about 15 minutes. We took turns eating all sorts of things vinegar, cream, cheese, apples, onions, lemmings… Lemons are delicious and sweet when you eat one of these

SUper nice day !

Saturday night – Pot Luck

Everybody is still glowing from yesterday.. ..  The house was full and happy. Nothing spells love like a full dishwasher 🙂

I refilled the well in prep for 9 showers. laundry etc.. So far I’m proud of the well for doing so “well”.. ugh.. dad joke

First order of busienss was a wonderfull yoga class diane gave for all of us. Perfect start for a rainy day

Then a huge breakfast made cooperativly by everbody

We spent most of the day gettign ready for the pot luck that max and becky had planned to celibrate their wedding.. It was goign to be a small party (50-60 folks) of their Vermont friends.. Most of whom dont evenn knwo that they are married yet.

The house really looked nice !

We knew a few days ago that today would be super raiy.. there was 2″ of rain predicted just for the day.. thats 5% of what we normally get in a year !.. We were prepared though.. Our house is plenty big  enogh for the group who was coming.. Diane  also had the foresight to rent a large tent.. plus our  wonderful friends tim, jen and nate lent us another laarge tent plus a 10×10 popup. Our freind Krista lent us another.  W
e were all set. THe party started at 4PM.. early as our partys go.. but there was a constant stream of people here from 4 – 10PM !.. I think we had about 70 peope all told.   It was so noce seeing so manyu old freinds!

THis was a pot luck so folks braught all sorts of yummy food. Huge thanks to our friends Deb and Jen who prepared a beautiful  spread of middle eastern food with spiced chicken.. We were well stocked.

At the peak max  and becky stood up and thanked everybody for coming and spoke from his heart about how happy he and becky were to be surrounded by so much love !

Despite the hard rain.. lots of people were outside in the tents as well as inside

Danny and elizabeth are master mixologists.. THye’d braought a bunch of stuff for both alcohol and non alchohol ..cocktails.. fun to watch the process.. and super tasty

The party began to wind down around 10:30.. That was a 6 and a half hour party !!!..

The last order of business for today was for Max and becky to finish the paperwork for their marriage..  We all gathered round to watch this little bit of the bureaucratic side of love

Everybody helped with the clean up and by the time we all went to bed the house was pretty much put back together again

THe late night crowd moved over to the yoga space for movies.

Diane surprised them with a late night tray of tater tots with cheese.. which was so much appreciated..

y that time we were nicely tired.. as we headed up to bed I checked our weather station. We’d received  1.7r inches of rain.. and it hadn’t dampened our day a single drop !

Our hearts are full !

Thank you Max and Becky for bringing the party to us !
