Finn spent the night here because it was easier than driving him back to Hinesburg. So we had a nice breakfast and took a few pictures with the FLIR thermal camera I built. 

 

Gabe went off to Bolton.  while we went off with  Max and Becky to see Max’s freidn Johs in Ferrisburg. Josh is a ligthing guy for Trombone Shorty and travels most of the time. When hes’ not traveling , he and his wife Jess live in a cool place back in the woods with 4 goats, ducks, chickens, two dogs and a cat.. We loved hanging out with all the animals . We then head from there back to waterbury (about an hour) for dinner at the Reservoir. 

Full day.. enjoyign the slow pace !

Another great vacation day.   Gabe and I headed over to Chris’s to help him with the Champ he’s building for the new years burn. He’s building as much of it as he can inside to keep it dry.. Chris and Kim’s living room had transformed into a wood shop. . Chris and Mat worked on the structure while  I cut shingles down to scale width  and Gabe cut them into the pointy shape of scales. 

 

On the way home I picked up Finn and brought him back to the house. I worked wtih hom to move all the games on his Switch to a bigger SD card… then  we took advantage of the snow to do some sledding on the back yard hill. It’s fun remembering that this sledding hill only exists because a neighbors truck accidentally came down the hill through the trees. Our neighbors have kept it clear for sledding ever since. 

Dinner was grilled cheese sandwiches then all of us.. Max,, Becky, Gabe. Finn, Diane and I headed over to Krista to see Austin burn his own dinosaur sculpture. Max, Gabe , Diane and I got to help se the thing up so it balanced (more or less)   It was a beautiful burn !

Then home for more video games !

Now THAT feels like a vacation !

It was a Nice chill day after yesterday’s Christmas Bliss. Max and Becky headed out to see friends… Gabe and I play with his new/old microscope and then he died and I took a hike up Robbins mountain and sledded down.  Interesting to compare his brand new crampons to our older ones !

We also checked in on the tree we’d decorated outside.. we had a few new visitors

I also played around with one of the demos we’re building for work. This one shows the effect of resonances in a bowl of water.. Pretty cool !

Today was Christmas.. and we were all together at home for Christmas for the first time in years.  Sam was in all our hearts.

Xmas started for real at 11AM.  Lots of love, lots of pajamas.. opening gifts, cooking, eating, repeat until midnight.  It was truly wonderful.

 

An hour or so in the sun was shining brightly outside.. so we wrapped up and when out to decorate a tree outside for the animals. I’ts a long family tradition.. we tie together  old bread, bagels and donuts and scatter seeds and nuts . Super fun to be outside (especially in your jammies !)

Then back to more presents, music, cooking and eating !.  Got to talk to my mMom too. 
   Around dusk we started making a group meal of dim sum.. . It was a great group effort.. steamed pockets with yummy fillings and lots of different sauces. 

It was such a nice  day.    I feel such gratitude…
