we got to santa fe around midday and met Brian , the really wonderful guy we’re renting our van from . the van is really great .. nearly new and really

wrll fitred out . it’s a Thor van bet we’re calling it ‘Loki’

we headed to santa fe to max and becky’s. beckys folks and our good friends george and doreen showed up about an hour after we got there and the  process of prepping for the sunburn festival began

Monday night – fireflies

This last couple of days have had busy days and busy nights. Like busy nights… I mean mostly the fireflies.… They have been absolutely spectacular. I tried to capture them with my camera but it doesn’t do it justice.…

It’s truly a miraculous sight

Sunday night – The Bear

busy day at the fluffy site today. only 52 days till she drives out into the desert . this project is fun but taking so much time …I both love and hate it. I love the people though which is making it worth it .

I got home around 5 and we headed up to Debs for a make your own pizza dinner. The dinner was in honor of Olivier’s parents Bernard and Sophie who are visiting from Paris. We haven’t seen them since before covid..   It was really nice to catch up .. Thanks to oliver for acting as translator when needed.

We each assembled our pizzas and cooked them in this cool portable propane-powered pizza oven.. they were both fun  to make and delicious.. the pizzas reflected each of our tastes and personalities

One guest who was watching from a distance was the local bear.. She (?) has been hanging out in Deb and her neighbors garbage cans for several weeks..

while we were cooking.. she was doign this to the dumpster..

Its cool to have the bear.. but I worry that someone is going to call the game warden and that will be the end of this bear..   I hope not !

Good luck Ms Bear !
