Tuesday night – ides

Today was the Ides of March… Supposedly an inauspicious day according to Julius Caesar. For me it was a pretty peaceful one… ‘Diane had used last night to start making a bunch of Sam stones… They were so beautiful laid out on the table. It’s nice to be still needing to (getting to?.. wanting to ?) Make these 15 years after sam’s death. We still get plenty of requests for them. Enjoy hearing people find them all over the world. I think sam would think it’s pretty cool.

Thanks for making these diane !

Monday night – pi day – and Dark star

Today is pi day (3.14)… It’s a big day especially for folks from MIT. It’s the day that new applicants learn whether they got in or not.… Our Mit club (vomit… Vermont’s own Mit club) Usually celebrate with a party… But we’re not quite at that Post pandemic point yet.

Diane and I celebrated by eating a few pieces of pizza pie

As soon as I finish my pizza my friend Gari showed up and we are friend Paul and three friends of GARY’s headed off to higher ground for a Darkstar Orchestra show. DSO Is one of my favorite Grateful Dead cover band… They’ve been at it for over 20 years and They do it very well… They usually pick a real Grateful Dead show and play it song for song… I still haven’t figured out what show they were playing… But the place was full of people roughly my age and some younger Dancing like crazy. They had some great numbers… Including front of the devil, Franklin’s tower, another Saturday night… And a whole bunch of others. It was fun running into friends at the event.

It was so great being out here live music…

It’s so good for my soul.

sunday night – bushwhacking

thanks to daylight savings I slept till 9am ! we woke to deep snow

and bright sunshine.

we ate and headed out to

play in the snow. we went to bamforth ridge trail then veered off the trail to follow the west side of gleason brook. it was beautiful out

off the trails. about an hour in we decided to cross the brook to loop back on a different trail we knew. not as easy as it sounds as crossing the break is harder now that the ice is starting to melt . after about 20

minutes of

looking we found a place where we could sort of safely cross . the a steep up holl following the go’s to find our other unmarked trail. it was physically demanding and fun !

i’m guessing that’s the last big snow of the year..

but who knows 🙂

saturday night – snow day !

we had a wonderful snow day yesterday. just the kind of day we needed . we hung out indoors and worked on converting the ‘toy room’ to the ‘plant room’ . diane is going to use it for starting seedlings and for growing year round. we cleaned out the room and assembled some steel shelving. the lights should arrive next week.

mod day we had a short zoom with the kids which was really nice

the we headed off for a walk in the storm. we just went up dugway road. I noticed that diane was wearing the colors of the Ukrainian flag 🇺🇦

we came back and started digging out our driveway from nearly a foot of snow. our very lind neighbor jeff pitched in with his snowblower

nice day !
