Diane , Kyle and I just completed a 1024 piece puzzle of our house . We had them made from Shutterfly and gave a few of them out for presents and kept one for ourselves . It’s been so fun to work on .

It’s actually a puzzle of a painting that our friend Julie (aka Maui) painted of our house in 1999 . Diane saw her sitting across from the house painting .. and we’ve been friends ever since .

We’ve been putting on loads music and working on it for about 30 min at a time . Our house has lots and lots of clapboard.. hence lots and lots of pieces that are just clapboard. Next time we paint the house we should paint a crazy pattern . It’ll make it easy to work if we make a puzzle of it !

Other than that .. what did we do today ? I started in on cleaning my lab.. it’s gonna be a big job .. so much stuff !!! It did feel Good to get started .

We also took a 6 mile hike . We started up the notch road and hiked up to the long trail on the ridge between notch and Bolton access road . There was more than a foot of snow up there .. much of it fresh tracks , we had two sleds with us which was so fun

That’s 11 miles in the last two days thanks to the nice weather (teens and sunny )

Diane got a new phone (a iPhone 12) this week . We took it with us on our hike today. We hiked 5 miles back from Bolton Mitch road to our home via the old long trail . Here are some of the pics. I want to see how the camera compares

I saw yesterday that the US lost 4085 people to Covid 19 the day before . That’s almost exactly the population ofOur town of Richmond Vt ( 4081) . That would be our entire town gone . That brought the statistics home to me more than anything else I have ever heard and broke my heart

Yesterday seemed liked a weird dream. In Spent the day looking for any sign of normalcy in the world .. and there were a few !

I had a super busy day but diane and i managed to get out for a lunchtime ski over near the shooting club

One other fun thing today as I worked I was uploading the nearly 76,000 photos from my phone into google photos . I’m hopping to use its search capabilities to help me better manage the tons of pictures I take for this blog , etc. it’s been uploading for 2 days so far and about half way done

One interesting thing about googles facial recognition software is that it’s given me about 400 ‘faces so far thatb I have to a sign a name to. Many are. Friends, family and coworkers .. bit many are folks that I just met once at events somewhere in the planet . It’s a great brain exercise to try to cosmup with everyone’s name and. Story ..

Doing that brings each of them to mind which is fun

It’s like getting to meet them again for a little bit whiteout leaving the couch. !
