Got a great nights sleep last night… And started to catch up on sleep from his last weekends hackathon.
When I Street today is that my friend Marcus was in town. I got to show him around MIT
The big event today was MIT@IBM. .. We had over 400 people visiting our building to eat food, watch demos… And get to know us. It was super fun. I set up with the Vereminn and my tesla coil
Now comes the rest of AI week. That starts early tomorrow so I better get to sleep
Nite all, nite Sam

Really amazing day at the Hack MIT hackathon. I went home just before 3 AM to catch a little sleep… And actually forgot to set my alarm clock… Luckily I woke up at 6:30 AM. I was able to get over to the venue a little after seven. Things were still pretty sleepy there
It was a great breakfast (they kept feeding us… Way too much food but it was delicious)
As the room came back to life we went back to helping some of the projects. I broke out the veremin and let people play with that which was fun.
Around 1130 we had a training for judging… Then the overall judging began. It was awesome seeing so many cool ideas. Call believe there were about 110 teams that I actually ended up getting judged call… Call that’s interesting because I think they were about 1100 students there. That means a lot of people didn’t actually stick around to compete .
Then lunch… Then I had to split off of the group to do the overall panel judges. I was one of four overall judges for the event… Including representatives from Amazon, Microsoft and the city of New York. We got to watch pictures from the top 10 voted projects. It proved to be quite hard to pick the top three. But we were Able to get to consensus finally
From there we had to run over to the closing festival where the winners we just picked would be announced.… My Ibm friends were all sitting together
Overall IBM had a really good showing. We had more than 40 teams working with us of the 110 that were there. That was pretty impressive. We gave away five prizes… Starting at $2000 for the first place team,Teams that used our stuff Also won second place overall in the hackathon and best “Social good” award.… Will get more stats that I’ll share. But overall… We did really well. I was very proud Of the student hackers in our Ibm team
After the ceremony… We all Went back to strike our booth. All of our prize winners were with us. It was really a great feelInglês
From there we went to Roxies for beer and grilled cheese… And then met up one more time for a post-hack dinner…
It was a really good weekend… I’m so appreciative for all the help my friends put in.
Now I need to get some sleep!

Wonderfully crazy and fun day at hackmit yesterday… There were more than 1100 students… About 700 of them from MIT and 400 others that were flown in at the events expense. I don’t think I’ve ever been around this many Uber smart people . And I’m proud to say we were ready for them. Our Ibm team was there in force… Call we had prepared long and hard for this and it felt very good
Several of us got there very early to begin setting up… It was fun being in that large stadium all by ourselves
By 9 o’clock when The event officially began we were ready
I had to make a short 902nd presentation at the opening ceremony that laid out everything Ibm was doing, our challenges, our prizes etc. It’s hard to make such a short speech
As soon as the opening ceremony was over the students poured in and we were absolutely mobbed for swag… Luckily we were well prepared
We spent the morning helping student teams decide what to do and trying to convince them to let us help them. I think we did a pretty good job… Will see today
Around 1 o’clock my friend Derek did a very well-done tech talk on the Ibm programs. He talked about his work with project owl… One of last year’s call for code projects that he helped his wife. He then walk people through how to use IBM cloud by showing them how he had hooked up his Tesla. It was standing room only
The rest of the day was just meeting with students helping them where We could
We took breaks when we could to eat etc. I really enjoyed hanging out with The other members of the Ibm team
From there on it was hacking until about 2:30 AM when things got pretty quiet
Some of that quiet time allowed Derek to let me drive his Tesla. ‘
It’s the closest thing I’ve ever been into to a rocket ship. Truly an amazing machine
I got out my electric go cart… Which was my “indoor Tesla”… Here is Hendrik taking spin
Then more hacking
I did note that we were the only sponsor there after about midnight on… Go team Ibm!
I went home and got about 3 1/2 hours sleep… And feel great. Just about to walk in there this morning. Let’s see how it goes today
