Saturday night (delayed) – voted off the island

Saturday was cleanup and exodus. We had originally planned to stay until Sunday but we got a weather report that shows 4 foot waves by Saturday night. We had to get out of there. I woke up at 6 AM to a real mess. I actually had about three hours to myself cleaning up the beach and the campsite. I actually really enjoy the work

I’m sure I gave quite a show as I was doing a lot of the cleanup of the old lanterns in Burwood fragments dressed as I was born 🙂

Chuck  drove  back snd forth in the boat to move our gear. The last of us left the island around 3 o’clock and the wind was rising. Some of the gangs that late to cook a bunch of the extra meat that was left over from Sunday’s plans stay. I was content to sleep on the beach while that happened… Then we got in the water and paddle a 2 1/2 miles or so back to killKare. It was beautiful. it was nice being on the island.. but ii was also nice being  back in the real world.

the mystical fire duck ‘ducminster fuller” arrives on the island.. its ,made of woven willow and cloth soaked in beeswax and linseed oil./. it’s based on a na ancient boat called a coracle

Thursday evening – prep day

Greetings from my tent at campsite five and Wood Island. I spent the day getting ready for tomorrow’s fire and water bird. Was a long day with lots of people andz gear coming and going. I had some long stretches Where I was the only person on the entire Island which was kind of cool and strange.… Tonight we have about 10 people here taking social distancing measures sitting around a campfire and eating individually prepared meals. It’s nice.

We’re saving most of the fire fun for tomorrow… Yes we are being careful…)…

I just got in my tent and ran into this guy. Took me about 20 minutes to grab him with my drinking cup and escort him out of the tent. I swear this is the same guy I caught in the kitchen of our house

This evening we had a lot of fun cooking together but separately

Other gear and people kept coming through the day

l

Enough for tonight… Lots more for tomorrow.

Nite all, nite sam
