Sunday night – home again

Diane and I got home from France today around 5 PM. It was a long day of travel starting at 6 AM Frances time. What a great trip we had. It was so great being together with all those friends and seeing Hannah and Olivier 😍 get married.

It’s also wonderful to be home. The doggies missed us and we missed them.. We took the dogs for a walk and couldn’t help noticing that fall is coming… You could see signs everywhere.

The ferns are dying

Some leaves are starting to change

It’ll be winter soon enough… But what a summer we had!

Thursday night (delayed) – Hennessey

I didn’t even try blogging last night because of lack of connectivity. I’m in the small town of epargnes Picking up our new friends Cynthia and Auilliume (sp ?). Yesterday was another really fun day. The big adventure for us was that GabÉ, Kevyn and I drove to cognac to visit the Hennessey distillery. It was kind of a pilgrimage because Hennessey has become so synonymous with rap culture. And my dad loved it as well. So it was really fun. It was about an hour drive through small country lanes. The distillery was on the banks of a very beautiful river. We had just enough time to grab a quick And very delicious Italian lunch… Then went on a 90 minute tour of Hennessy. It was really amazing and well done. He started out by watching a movie of the evolution of the brand and then went step-by-step through the distillation process, Couper Ng (making of the barrels) and the aging and mixing. Each one of the steps had a very cool multi media aspect. Whoever did it should be very proud.

In the end we got to do sampling of cognac that I could never afford. A 16-year-old EXO and comparing it to a VS OP. I’m not a cognac snob but man was the stuff good

One thing we got to do is view some really highly prized bottles… Like this one which was $25,000… Only 60 in existence

Then came the best part… The tasting

From there we drove back In time for gabe to help cook dinner. Diane and I went for a short run and got to see the old church in our small town

And then… a wonderful meal .. Which should be no surprise by now

Ok.. We’re well into Friday now… The big day. We’re all pretending to help get ready for the wedding… The mostly were just goofing off.

More from later
