Lots of things are different this week’s… Social distancing, restaurants closed, overrun by chipmunks… And ticks… Ticks everywhere. Both Diane and I woke in the night to find ticks in bedded in our backs… It’s not pretty. Here’s the one from Diane’s back
And here are the holes they left in my back and Diane’s back
Don’t worry… We called in and both got a single dose of anabiotic’s that prevents Lyme disease.
… But it’s still kind of creepy.… Luckily ‘Diane’s got my back

Ps Tomorrow is Max’s birthday… Give him a shout out!
Long tough day… With a nice break towards the end. Our six year old neighbor Francesca had a dance recital in the park. It was a social distance extravaganza… Everybody’s sitting far apart with masks on. The dancers We’re all dressed as monkeys from the jungle book. It was really cute… It was so fun they did it twice. We were so proud of Francesca !
Nice day around the house. Began with a run on my new shoes. I’ve been unable to run for the last 2 1/2 weeks because of a hamstring pool. So far so good. Mid morning I had a long podcast interview with my friends Tammy. He’s a 16-year-old technical genius who I’ve known since he was 12. He’s the real deal. super nice and very well-balanced. I was being interviewed for his #techlifeskills Video blog series. You should check it out! He does a great job of mixing technology and other aspects of life. I had a great chance to catch up with Anne Marie and his parents afterwards. It’s really nice to reconnect with all of them.
Later in the afternoon I met up with Aaron (rebar) And his gf Shoah to begin working on the next generation trebuchet for fire and water festival. This one is three times larger and should be able to throw something a good 300 or 400 feet.… It was really fun working together to build up the base of the device. We worked in the Nordic farms studio that Eren is using as a shop for veterans with PTSD. (Aaron is also a war wounded veteran)
That’s all for this very nice weekend. More from the week ahead tomorrow
Really nice and quiet day up here. We woke up early and hung around the house and work. Just before noon we made our big trip of the week which was into Essex Junction to buy new running shoes for the two of us. It was actually pretty fun. I’ve been running on the same shoes for several years… And sometimes I use my fathers old shoes. But Sean our physical sports guy Tells me I need to do something else if I want to keep my knees going strong. So I have some flashy new yellow and black shoes.
This afternoon we decided to go for a longer hike. We drove one car up to Bolton Valley resort and then drove back down to the sugarhouse on the Bolton access room. We walked up the vast trail to the intersection of the new part of the long trail north. We then took that on the ridge between button notch and Bolton Valley Rhoads. It was beautiful. Somewhere between six and 7 miles.… We came out took a look around Harringtons of you and then hiked back down
