Super hard workday… My head feels like it’s going to explode by the end of every day at this point.

Dinner is always a welcome break… That means I could take a few hours off. Today we had agreed to meet with our friends Deb, AnnMarie and Steve for a “Cinco de Thai-o’ Video dinner. We each agreed to cook pretty much the same thing and eat it together on Zoom. It was really fun. Diane made wonderful drunken noodles and it’s amazing kale salad… It was great just getting together and having some nice fresh spicy food.… We also I’ll drink corona… A little bit of refreshing irony

I’m pleasantly fault… Hoping I can call my mind enough to sleep

Today marks the sixth anniversary of my dad’s passing.…

I’ve been thinking about him all day. What a great guy. Super fun, super modest, super super ethical. He was and remains such a great role model for me.

I think about him often… He’s saying “it is what it is”… He’s one of the most profound things anyone ever said to me… It comes in my mind frequently whenever things get tough…

He’s goofy sense of humor comes into my mind all the time… And I miss it very much.

Lily yahrzeit candle today and kept it going all day

Gabe marked the day by starting breakfast in my dads ugly sweater with his favorite cognac . Breakfast of champions

Really great weekend… I really needed the time off. Even though I had work meetings both days it still felt like something of a weekend

‘Diane and I took a great 5 mile hike up around Honey Hollow today.

Hey were so many cool spring flowers out… Trillions of trilliums

Lots of trout lilies… Which we nibbled on

But the real find of the day was ramps. They’re kind of wild onion/garlic hybrid. They are so delicious and they were growing all over the place

We were careful not to over harvest… But that again managed to make her shirt into a collection basket

Tonight I made those ramps into a pesto. It was so delicious.

We all have epic garlic breath now

It’s definitely a sign that it’s really spring now…

Today was pretty special. We took our first real journey outside the house in more than a month. We were careful… We went to see our friend MARTHA in her cabin in Cabot today.We caravaned up there with our friend Ellen… She in her car, us In hours for the hour and 15 minute drive up there. Martha’s cabin is a pretty rustic place. No plumbing or electricity… What a beautiful setting. We have an actually help to build it. It’s wonderful to see her there… She really loves the peace and quiet. We all did the social distance same thing and stayed a good eight or more feet apart.

Even so it was very good seeing other humans.

There was still some snow up there in places… Actually got to throw a snowball

We sat around the fire… At a safe distance… And walked on the trails near there… And down to the small pond

The girls even made s’more’s before we came back. Again keeping a good to stick distance between them



We got to see the daffodils we actually planted for MARTHA last season.

Beautiful day… And so great seeing Martha so happy up there
