Good day down in Cambridge.. I tried a different commute today. I left home at 5:30 am and drove to Lebanon NH.. where I caught the Dartmouth coach. That allowed me to work all the way down to south station.. and I don’t need to mess around with parking here in the city.. This might be the easiest way.. 

 

I met soem great new people at work today.. they all just came back from a week workign in greece.. !

spent soem nice time on campus talkign to my favorite prof 

AFter work I wlakd about a mile to my really blah  holiday inn on the Somerville line. I gotta figure out a better hotel situation down here.. I decided to take a run.. and find something for dinner.. it turned out to be a really nice adventure  in a part of Cambridge I don’t know that well.

and a movie in the park…. where I ate my dinner  (great hummas wrp) 

it was the lion king !> I had to wat unitil simba gets held up by the ape . 

 

ok.. I’ve seen enough !

We had a tough start to the day. A woman from down the road accidentally hit and killed a stray cat that had been living nearby. It happened on the road near our house. The woman ., Eren or Aron .. was  so sad.. so were we. We took the cat and wrapped it and let it be for a while..  and then later in the day buried it in a nice place at the edge of our yard. The cat was beautiful and peaceful looking as we covered her up .. I felt it in my heart. I went out to the grave and talked ot it a few times today. The woman came by this evening with some flowers. we put them on the small mound wed made for the cat.. we felt both better and worse..

We had a wodnerful day at home.. went for a couple of short hikes, hung out with the dogs, floated in the pool and finsihed a bit more cleaning in the attic. Tonight we went to a restorative yoga and gong class then split a dinner at Franks in Winooski.. a great vacation day recovering from our already very relaxing vacation.. 

I have a few leftover pictures/movies from the week I wanted to share. the first was a spontaneous ‘performance’ that Gabe, Max and I did on the rental houses very ornate welded stair rail.. It kinda sounds like a gamalon

 

 

and here are soem pics my sister Mary and bro-in-law John had taken of the kids on the zipline course .. It looks like so much  fun ! (Thanks for taking  them M & J !)

Just got home.. and its so nice to be here. The dogs were happy to see us and the house looks glad too. 

It was a good vacation this week. good mix of outdoors and family time.. The fires  out in montana made it hard to see stuff far away.. but close up the woods were really nice .. I loved running the woods trails near the house..  It was really nice catching up with the family.. lots of changes.. but mostly we all stay the same. we’re an ecelctic group.. so it’s always interesting. 

it was also a great place to send off max and becky to their new lives in santa fe.. and gabe and raya  for their trip out west and Gabes new life as a grad student…

 

now I have to re-aquaint myself with my own  bed.. lookign forward to that.
