Super busy day with both jobs. Managed to knock off at a fairly normal time.. took advantage of Gabe’s being here to help him make Sake from a kit he got last xmas. 

It was pretty easy so far..   its made from white rice. white raisens and white sugar.. 

it’s about  3 month process. so it’ll be fun to watch.. and hopefully fun to drink !

 

first everything for the brewing gets sterilized. 

 

then we diced up the white raisons 

 

rinced the rice 

 

then bagged the raisons and rice in muslin and tied it up

 

then we added warm water. 

 

a wilde yeast inhibiter. 

 

and two poinds of domino’s finest 

 

then a little acidifier  stuff ? 

 

then seal it up for 2 days.. when we open to add the yeas t. 

 

on goes the airlock.. now time to wait !

11pm and finally sitting down after an amazingly varied and busy day. It started with eary work meetings.. then a break to go buy a car..  With gabe heading to Oregon, we are down one car and we needed to fix that 

by 9:40 I was out of the car dealer and headed to o FAHC hospital for a stress test. I get them every 5 years due to  some family history.. it’s kinda fun.. especially when I run into old friends like Kurt C… and his daughter and granddaughter. 

the test itself was fun .. and painless. and went well. I passed !

 

it was still morning when I got out and I dove into work meetings..

 

at 5 I went to Generator to hear a talk on IoT… 

 

no.. wait….

I was giving the talk.. It was a pretty crowded house.  I think the talk went OK. waiting to get more feedback I do know I talked to long. 

 

came home to find this guy on our sidewalk.. 

now just finished grilled cheese with gab.e

life is full and good.

Very busy day today.. thsi 2 jobs thing is keeping me running. 

 

I was very happy when 6PM rolled aroudn for slow yoga.. then a post shavasana feast

we had italian wedding sopup, onion feta foccacia, fresh spring roles from KiKi’s sister Katy , and fresh cherries and strawberries.

Sam would have been 26 years old today. Hard to believe. I felt him all day.. .. many days I do. 

I really, really missed him today though. 

We marked his birthday a little differently today.. we decided to do something smaller this year. We’d just had a gathering for Gabe’s graduation.

We we’re looking for something a little we decided to hike as always.. but have our gathering at the top of the mountain instead of here at the house.  

 

We had a nice small group of folks meet us .. even though it was memorial day. we had a greta collection of doggies as well . (ours didn’t go.. it’s a little much for Chai at this point) 

it was warm and still.. 

 

we actually found some residual snow on the trail !

 

and lots and lots of mud ! 

 

we set up a nice spread up top. .it was fun eating up there !

Gabe and I climbed up the rickety fire tower to set off a mortor as always 

 

it was crazy settig this off here.. any sudden movement set the tower to swayign crazily !

on the way down we ran into these guys who’d gotten their jeep really stuck We saw them drive out an hour later !
