Relatively peaceful day… which I so badly needed.. I was working out this morning when a knock came on the door. My good friends Vicki, Greg, Dixie and Leon were on there way back from an early morning Stowe breakfast. Despite the picture here.. they weren’t fuzzy at all. they were wide awake.. not sure I could say that same about myself. It was great visiting with them for awhile.
Around 1 Gabe and I headed up to intercept friend Chris in Eden about an hour north of here for a dog sled ride.. We had to stop and pick up Chris’s sled on the way to bring it up to him.. Funny to see a our car with a dog sled on the roof.
The ride u was quite pretty.. it was still very much winter up there with more than a foot of fresh snow all around.
Even the Lowell wind farm looked pretty in the snow..
We hung out for awhile then harnessed up 4 of the dogs.
The place was really pretty cool.. about 32 dogs hanging around.. though some were out at a race.
Matt was there to give chase in a tracked ATV in case anything went haywire..
Gabe went first..
Then it was my turn.. It’s a whole lot faster than you’d ever think.. even with four dogs, you get going pretty quickly on a flat.. and reallllly fast on anything with a downhill sloope.. I got pretty used to yelling ‘easy’ to get the dogs to slow.. It was amazing fun !
Gabe and I took turns going around the fields.. really beautiful and fast.. and surprisingly good exercise as you have to help run the sled up hills.. with a 4 dog team.
we took a short break afterwards in the comfy dog room.. it was a whole dog world there.. I still smell like them !
What a cool adventure..so glad we went.. and big thanks to Chris for hosting us.. !
Thats it for now ..
