Today was the Stomp and Stack fundraiser  at Talent Skatepark in honor of our friend Dylan Peters It was put on by our very good and dear friends Hannah and Dave.   The event was to raise money for Dylan’s Memorial Fund which will all go to getting kids on skateboards and snowboards.. things Dylan really loved.

We were greeted at the door by a picture of Dylan .. just beaming.. it must have been a skate or snow  board picture..

Dylan’s skate board was there.. as were some pictures and a copy of his memorial obit,. I added soem material about organ donation. Dylane was a 4 wat organ donor.. just liek Sam..

Sam was there too..

I was struck all day how strange it was for all of us to be back in this unthinkable spot..

Still.. it was a very happy and upbeat event.. there were tons of folks tere.. Phil came by with Morgan and son James. Phil had made some ‘I skate for Dylan’ stencils and made soem cool grip tape.. he even spray painted his own kid !.

Sumner, Mica and one of their friends were there making good music to power the riders..

there was some great riding today .. really great.. Dylan.. and Sam would have loved it !

Amir’s Gyros and Falafal cat was outside.. and totally delicious..

I left the event around 5 as things were winding down..   I called Jim and Sue to tell them how things had gone.   Jim’s in California.. I wanted him to know how well the event had gone..We had a long talk.. I remember how hard it was to travel right after Sam died.. SO many people to tell the sad story to.. so many relivings.. Jim told me about ta dinner he’d had with friends Heidi and Michael the night before.. One of Heidi’s cousins had been an organ donor like Dylan.. It’s a smaller world when you’ve gone thorough loss.

 

I had teo more errands after I left Talent.. I had to go to work to pick up my gear for an early morning  show tomorrow. . Afte rI loaede my car, I aw thisbeutifil fox.. just a few yards from my car..

THen I made a quick stop tin Jericho to see how Chris’s burning spartan was coing. He plans to torch it afte r the open studio tour.. next sunday,.. It will be spectacular.. !

The work was not wohtout its hazards.. Chris cut himself to the bone with a backsaw.
