Tuesday night – boarding

Yikes..
Looks like another short post.. I’m at the burbank airport just in time to board the flight back to JFK.. It’s been a long and busy day out here. Started with a 7am recording session for the IBM comercial I’v ebeen working on.. It was a very cool expereinvce.. Margarita mix studios..It looked like an upscale resturant.. food and drinks every wehre, cool adobe decor.. and the most hightech recording equipment I’ve ever seen. Evedently they use this place for doing lots of animated features.. My session took about an hour..
Just as I was leaving My buddy Jeff J showed up. to do the voice over for his  commercial . I was great seeing him . It was a cool experience.. the only catch is.. I htin kI need to rerecord it soemtime this week.. oh wel..

Looks like we’re boarding.. I’ll try ot get the pictures loaded before we take off.. but not sure I have time.. more tomorrow.

Ahh.. it’s tomorrow morning.  and I’m at JFK. . here are the pictures from yesterday

Here’s Margarita Mix- the very nice recording studio I went to yesterday..

Here’s the add I’m working on..

Larry and ryan are over in the control room

While I knock out the audio in the booth..

I left a few samstones in that beautiful place..

As I was leaving. My buddy Jeff shoed up to work on his commercial…

here he is showing off his freshly sha ved legs… he’s a major triathalte.. anything to reduce resistance.

Later in the day, I took a break to walk around some of the pros left over form the  Colony Season 1..

Here’s the trike… I loved the controller on that build..

the controller has the cutest evil face.. don’t you think ?

I also found the voltage controler for the solar setup.. Not many other things hanging around.. .. It was fun to touch these things again..

OK.. boarding for Burlington.. more later..

Monday night – old friends

Long, fun day.. started with a 6AM work call with japan. Very exciting stuff..   Then caught a plane to LA over soem gorgeous mountains

The rest of the day was full of very interesting meetings.. but given that they were work meetings.. nothing I can go into here.. just lots of cool creative stuff.. this is the stuff I love the best about my work..

After work. I met up with some of my good friends from the Colony.. Here are Gadget, Morgan. Johnny V, and Michael. It was so wonderful catching up !

And that was my day… doesn’t sound like much.. but it was really fun and interesting.
I gotta wake up in a6 hours to go do some recording for work.. so I’ll sign off here.. More tomorrow.

Sunday night 0 an inconvienient (but fun) trip

Folks.. too tired to do a proper blog.. and I have an early (6am) meeting.. but I just had a really fun/cool experience. I just had dinner with Al Gore.. me and 6 other folks sat down and talked about global warming with the king of global warming for about 3 hours . and I gotta say.. I was very impressed. He is a smart and passionate guy.. and he’s really motivated by what’s right for the world…. It was truly inspirational…

I watched Inconvenient Truth this afternoon as a bit of study.. and I have to admit.. it really sucked me in..hIt wasn’t the numbers. It was the raw passion for doing what you think is right.. I was deeply touched with  Gore talked about his son’s near death experience after the accident. We talked tonight  about Sam. and how that’s galvanized me to do the outreach I do..

I’ll reflect on it more tomorrow.. for right now.. I need to sleep…

I’m glad there are folks like Gore in the world

For now.. I’ll post these pictures and sleep..
more tomorrow.. I promise !
Ginte freinds.. gnite Sam !

Saturday night – Arriving Las Vegas

Sweet day.. Diane woke early to head down to Endicott for our friend Linda’s surprise 50th.. I was down there on Monday and went buy and took Linda flowers which was a sneaky way of getting here to think that Diane wouldn’t be coming down for her birthday.. Ha !

Gabe and I had to be up at smuggs by 8 for a USASA slope style competition.> the two of us are a pretty funny pair in the morning . Neither of us are what you might call ‘morning people’. It’s mostly grunts  and mumbles from both us until we get in the car,,,

We got up there in time.. We registered gabe.. then I took a walk partway up the gap road.. it was really beautiful in the filtered sun.

I got back in time for the start of the competition.. Gabe had a great first run.. .and a
sketchy 2nd run. The first run clinched the day for him.. He came in 1st place !

Before the awards, Paige, the organizer told us about the “Molly Rail Jam” on 3.6th. It’s a fund raiser for a memorial fund set up after 5 year old Molly Rowlee died of cancer in
june 2009. The molly fund helps families who have kids fighting cancer.

I felt the story deeply in my heart as Paige told us about Molly…   I guess that’s the
way it will always be….

The awards ceremony was over by 2:30.. Gabe took off with Dylan and Family.. I drove Garrett back to the park and ride in Richmond to meet his mom.. then I went home… meditated, then I went for a run with the dogs..

One catch was that my running shoes were packed in my suitcase, and I didn’t want to get them wet.  The only answer I came up with was to run in my old dress shoes.. I got new shoes on  Thursday.. so I thought.. what the heck…   I looked dorky (or more dorky than usual).. but they sure were comfy in the snow !

About 4;30 I left home for the airport. I’m on my way to Las Vegas.. for a meeting..
but more n that tomorrow… for now.
