Friday night – key findings

Day started nicely !.. Diane stomped a heart in the snow in front of the door for me in
Sweet !

Sometimes when I’m on the phone I do the strangest thing.. Today during a particularly interesting call I decided to clean off my key ring.. I have one of those huge wads of keys that janitors always seem to carry. The weight of it makes me lean perpetually to the right. I think I have a permanent dent in my leg on that side from carrying it.

First I removed 5 extra metal rings that had been hooked there over the years. The collection allowed me to make my own mini Olympic village

I also found two keys which went to no lock I knew.. How sad, forever separated !

One key I always have.. the key to my 1971 Volkswagen camper “maggie” I sold her in 1981 to a guy from California because it was not made for Vermont Winters.. or Summers for that matter. I wonder if she’s still on the road.   Long may you run, girl !

My pocket is  now lighter and sleeker . I can go to bed satisfied..

ps. Freind pete found the following.. . A good comic for engineering week !

Thursday night – drawings from CUSP

Jam packed day.. working very hard on something at work.. and not getting as far as I need to. very frustrating.. but still exciting stuff.   One hilight of the day was doing a Colony talk for engineering week  at General Electric Healthcare..   Ran into several old friends there which was nice.

I didn’t have much else to report for the day.. until I sat down to blog and found these drawings in my inbox. My friend Joan from the Cusp conference sent them to me. It’s a design conference.. very artistic. One of their artists. Mark Anderson. did these drawings of my talk there last fall.. I love them !.. What do you all think ?  I love it when stuff liek this happens..

Thanks you Joan, Thanks you Mark !

Nite folks.. Nite Sam !

Wednesday night – Homer Locke

Thanks you Homer Locke.. whoever you were .. Freind Wendy sent us a collection of old (1910 ish ?) photographs that someone found in West Bolotn.. There’s are sum great pictures of our house in it.. including this one that’s in the Richmond History book  (note the different windows) …

And this view of Jonesvillee. Oddly, I found this exact same picture on a postcard.. which must meant the postcars were made from this same batch of photos !

And a new phot I’ve  never seen of Jonesville in the snow.. You can see all the old buildings that would be washed away in the 1927 flood.  You can see the covered bridge which , rumor has it, washed out in the flood and took out the bridge in  Richmond.   Jonesville really has never recovered from that destruction .

What I enjoy as much as the pictures of our house and town is a glimpse of the people.. Who were they.. who are their relatives ? Do I know them  ? Will anyone ever look at us this way ?

ooops .. battery is going.. all for now
nite all , nite sam !
