Sunday night – hieroglyphics

Definitely feeling like spring is coming. it was in the 40’s and sunny today.. probably 15 degrees warmer than it ‘should’ be .. The world is waking up, the snow is melting. the brids are chirping.. and even the flys are buzzing. it’s wayyyy too ealry for all of that.

THe warm weather gave Diane and I a bit of spring cleaning fever.. so we cleaned up the front entrace way. We use it as a sort of cold strorage in the winter.. In a while we had it lookign like home again.

The rest of the day we spent on a bunch of small projects. Around 4 I sat down to start working.. and I’m still at it nearing 11 PM. I’ve got SO much stuff going on at work..

I did take a break to do something I’ve been meaning to do for weeks.

When Sam died, we had copies made of the necklace he always wore.. it was his name in Mayan Hieroglyphics . We had it made when Sam. Diane and I were in Mexico the summer of 2006, just months before he died. We promise each of the kids a trip anywhere in the world they’d like for their 14th birthdays, and Sam picked the Mayan Yukatan. It was a great trip. We went down o Tulum one day and found a little stand making pendants of your name or initials in Myana Glyphs.

S-A-M

Sam loved that thing and wore it until his last day on Earth. Here’s a picture of him wearing it.. that’s hanging in our living room.

We now have his pendant hanging where we can touch it whenever we want..

Our firend Chris also helped us sandblast the same symbols into the memorial rock we have for Sam  out our back door.

Sam’s freind Nate has the same symbols tattoos on his shoulder. Coincidentally, I saw a picture of nate’s ink today when I visited his folks.

I finally got around to hanging my copy of Sam’s pendant on the necklace I always wear.. it has my burning man pendant on it.. now it has Sam, too.

it feels good to wear.. heavy and strong. I’m glad I have it with me , now..

Gotta go to sleep now.. Night everyone
Nite Sam
