Wednesday late night – Happy St. Patty's day

Happy St. Patty’s day folks.. I’m the least irish person on the planet.. but.. like everyone else, I’m irish today.. Happy St Patty’s to all my real Irish friends (kate, tim. hugh, ellen) and fake irish friends (mike, ron  jay etc.. who just went to notre dame)

Well ,. today was a really big day.. Diane took off for Costa Rica for her birthday yoga trip.. I took her to the airport around 9ish.. I’m so excited for her. this sounds like it’s going to be an awesome trip.. t

She’s so wonderful.. that seh didn’t just get herself ready.. she got Gabe and me ready too.. she wrote down detailed instructions for every day..

Packed the freezer with good food

Orginized our days…

And even pu tout food bowls for us..

You know.. this stuffs pretty good if you let it soak a while 🙂

Being St Patty’s I had to toast the day. here’s some of the green  ‘moonshine’ I made in my still this afternoon. .. Let me tell you at about 180 proof.. it gives new meaning to the word ‘toast’ … 🙂

Diane must be pretty close to arriving in Nosara

about now (1 am EST).    I’m gonna use this blog a s a way of writing

to her whie she’s on her trip.. just like she wrote to me in the blog

while I was on The Colony..

So .. my love..we’re doing fine.. we miss you so much that we’re

playing lots of loud techno music to keep us occupied.. the dogs say

‘woof’

We miss you and love you !

Tuesday nigtht – Diane's trip prep

Diane is getting ready to travel to Costa Rica tomorrow for a yoga training.. She’ll be gone for 2 and a half weeks ..the longest she’s ever been away in one shot..  and will even be gone for her birthday. She takes such good care of us.. she’s written out detailed instructions for every day that she’ll be gone. bought us extra food, done every scrap of laundry… everything to make sure that Gabe and I manage while she’s gone. You have to understand our houshold.. Diane is the only person in the immediate family who knows anything at all about times and dates and bills and food and stuff like that.
I’m lookng forward to being here with Gabe..   I’m goign to really try to get him to school on time every moring.. and make sure we eat more or less every day…   Anyoen who sees me in the next two weeks .. please ask me the last time I ate.. or fed gabe… or the dogs… or watered the plants… or took out the garbage.. or brought in wood.. or cleaned the house…     Wish us luck 🙂

Sunday evening – Ed Kahan

I just received word that my friend Ed Kahan just died after a short hard fight with pancreatic cancer. Ed was an IBM Fellow who worked in Florida.. and more recently Israel .Ed lead the community of the 65 or so Fellow in the company ..  He was a great connector of people and ideas. The room lit up whenever he came in. I have many  important work/friend relationships that were made through Ed’s introductions. Ed and I were talking just a couple of months agowe spoke about Sam and about love and loss and the importance of living deliberately and and the importance of leading with your heart..  That’s what he always did… We’re all going to miss him very much.

One of Ed’s friends put together this mosaic of Ed using pictures of his many friends in the company. I’m in there a couple of times.. (28 down, 8 across). I liek looking through all the pictures at our many mutual friends.. I like the thought that we’re all part of one another .. Ed was part of me..

Be at peace my friend..

Nite friends. Nite Sam
