Dear John,
You, your family, and all of your dear friends are in my thoughts and prayers today. I commend and thank them for considering organ donation – this piece warms my heart. My daughter Sydney, who is now six, was saved by a liver transplant at the age of 8 months. We almost lost her as we waited for months for a donor to no avail. In the last hours, it was finally decided that her dad could donate and she is now a healthy, happy kindergartner and we feel blessed beyond description. I can’t even begin to imagine the trauma that this family is enduring right now, but please send our wealth of love and support to them as well as the heartfelt gratitude for the amazing gifts they are about to give to so many.
