Just that.. a perfect day.. I managed to work all day.. and still relax.. Work activity is pretty slow this week as most folks are off.. I still am behind, but I managed to adjust my expectation on what I expect to get done this week. My victory was to get my email down below a page.. I caught up on correspondence.. and even managed to write some code.. albeit faulty code.. Diane and I took the dogs for a run.. we came back across the Huntington river.. and saw just how low the water had gotten. The storms of the past several weeks have moved the river several yards closer to our house.. .. we’re still a hundred or so yards away.. but it makes you think how rivers really can move over thousands of years . The rest of my day mixed work calls and email with eating fresh strawberries and raspberries form the garden.. and talking to the many kids that floated in and out of the house at various parts of the day.
Now were heading to On The Rise to see friend Jen’s hook rug display.. .. nice..
OK. I think that;s it for the day .. sorry if blissfull days make for boring posts 🙂
arghhhh. my intention was to use this week while everyone is on vacation as a time to catch up and maybe even get ahead at work. somehow my intention didn’t make it even to the afternoon. I spent about 9 hours today just trying to catch up on my email backlog from being out Friday and Monday. it may have been a vacation here but not in the rest of the world. its 9pm and I still can’t get down below two pages of email.
tomoorow I’m going to try and start from a list so I dont end up being slave to my email.
ok… I’m. beat. more tomorrow
4th of july.. one of my favorite days of the year.. one of my family’s favorites as well. So, so many memories on this day.. the parade , the happening on the green, the fireworks, the lazy day at the house with folks dropping by.. so many things I’ve come to depend on.. .. Today was perfect.. we rode our bikes to Bressors to watch the parade.. the parade felt more fun and upbeat. than it has in years. ,, the folks on the green seemed cheerei.. the chicken barbecue smoke smelt chickinier.. It was Richmond at it’s summer best..
When we’d had our full of that, we rode home and chilled as a steady stream of folks came and went.. some old friends, some new friends.. We ate, swam and hung upside down.. before I knew it .. it was about 6. Time, Jen. David, Deborah . dine and I got innertubes and had gabe drop us off at triple buckets (how’s that for a swap) The six of us tubed down the Huntington almost back to the house.. it was amazingly beautiful and fun..
The.. it was time for fireworks.. … in the spirit of the sweet ‘dependence’ i have on this day.. I offer you my firework pictures for the year..
