Monday night – turkey day

Hello from Istanbul. I have been here since early this evening. I already really like the place, although I’ve spent most of the evening in my hotel room working/programming. I did take an  hour and a half fast walk down town to check out the scene. Wouldn’t you know that the Turkish gov is  into censoring .. and i can’t even reach  my own photobucket albums to share my pics. I’m trying another way.. not sure this will work.. but it’s a beautiful city filled with very nice and accommodating people…

some of them happen to be holding signs and other of them happen to be in full riot gear with tear gas rifles… not sure what was going on, but I came back to the hotel.. not because i was scared, but because I had code to write.

lets see if this works

if not, the pics are here

ok.. jet lag beckons

nite all, nite sam

-me..

  1. Hi John, Looks like you are in Taxim Square! I just returned from my IBM Corporate Service Corps assignment in Izmir, Turkey but we all stayed in Taxim for a few days before going to Izmir. The best baklava in town is from that shop that you photographed.
