Sunday night – the eagle has landed

Perfect fall day today. Diane and I took off early to drop by On The Rise on their second to last day. We wanted to pick up sticky buns for Gabe. It was cool looking around in there.. The place has been very much part of our lives for the last 10 years. There’s even a samstone built into their chimney. We wish all the best for Rachel and Ben in their next adventure..

to run Libby’s Loop on the Preston reserve. Its a steep climb and descent.. we made it in about 45 minutes.. not bad !. The view from the top was amazing. It’s getting to be  peak foliage at the higher elevations now.   Sorry I idn’t take pictures.. it is hard o run with my phone on those rough trails

After our run, we left immediately for Fritz and Betsy’s.. they had invited us to go out on the lake wiht them in their boat. It was so much fun !. we all drove to charlotte.. where fritze ferried us all out to the boat

Fritz sailed us around on the lake for the next 3 hours. it was pretty quiet.. and peaceful out there.. perfect weather.. what treat !

too soon it was time to go in..   Again fritz ferried us back.. and we all headed home

around 5:00 I went back into BTV to pick up Gabe. Today was our friend Jack W’s Eagle Scout ceremony. Jack is such a great kid i was so proud of him. There was a nice crowd gathered in the green to watch Jack get his award

lots of folks spoke about the eagle scout path and about Jacks accomplishment . Jack got to give his parents a pin, and they got to pin stuff on him.. quite a cool family deal.

here’s the sign for the richmond green that jac made for his eagle project. it’s really nice .

there was so much talk about eagles.. it made me want to repost the picture of the eagle I took in our backyard last june..

ok.. gabe is visiting us tonight.. I want to go spend some time with him.. so I’ll end here..

more tomorrow. nite all, nite sam
