Thursday night – year of transistions

I apologize for being so brief last night. Low batteries kept me from doing what I had planned wrt. summing up 2014.. As it turns out.. it was a welcome reprieve from having to put words around how i felt around last year..I had to do some more thinking on it today… and I’m still searching for how to best sum it up..   If I had to sum it up simply, 2014 was as a year of transitions. The thing that looms largest in my mind is the death of both of our fathers.. First Diane’s dad Gabe died in January .

Then my dad, Hugh died in May

Both of these guys were good friends and advisers to me.. both were gentle and kind spirits.. and both exited the world peacefully.   we miss them very much

I particularly miss my Dad when I need advice.. he was a great inspiration to me

We also had some very good transitions.. Gabe graduated from High School in June .. and  Started at the University of Vermont in August.. He’s enjoying it and doing well..  .

Max continues to sharpen his making skills in Brooklyn. He moved off the boat.. and  had some great travel experiences this year

Diane is in many ways our constant … she is the calm center of all of our chaos… helping the rest of us think clearly and organize to face the world.

My work continues to be an always changing mix of interesting and challenging stuff.. .. it too, is in transition as my rotational assignment in corporate  comes near its end..   I am proud of what i got done this year.. and really enjoyed meeting so many new folks around the worl.

I don’t know what 2015 will bring.. but I’m calm and optimistic.. / can’t ask for more than that !

Let make it a a good year for all of us…!

happy new year everyone !
