Saturday night – balmy

Today was a perfect mid winter day.. it was a ‘balmy’ 15 degrees above zero .. which felt like spring to us at this point. thats 35 degrees warmer than it was 2 nights ago. We headed out mid day in windbreakers and fleece to ski some more of the camel hump nordic area. There’s close to 2 feet of fresh powder out there and it’s finally looking a little more like winter..

we got to the trails and signed in only to see that the two folks who signed in just before us were our good friends tim and priscilla.. We tried calling them.. but.. no cell coverage.. so we headed up in the hills to see if we could find them..

we got to the top of the first long climb and Miracle of miracles.. there they were.. they’d taken a wrong turn and were retracing.. if we’d been 3 minutes ether way we would have missed each other out in the woods. Instead we had a really nice couple of hours hacking around in the woods with them. We headed up into the engrossed older trails. it was so beautiful .

ok.. gotta sleep now. more tomorrow..

Friday night – If 6 was 9

All day long I’ve had Jimmy Hendrix’s  If 6 was 9…  rolling around in my head.. Reason being, We decided to celebrate my birthday today.. the 6th.. instead of on Monday the 9th.. because I’ll be at work meetings on Monday. It seemed even more like a holifday because my email was broken.. It’s going to take a few days to fix it I’m told.. so i decided to enjoy the forced email vacation 🙂

It’s pretty convenient to be able to slide things around on the calendar these days.. Diane helped makee it a special day. After a few meetings this morning.. we took off for a beautiful snowshoe up Libby’s Lookout.. a good aerobic climb in the newly deep snow. We all needed the fresh air after being cooped up in the deep freeze the last few days. 15 degrees today felt like spring after last nights -18 degrees…

Later we all met up at Waterworks.. an old haunt of ours in the Wollen Mill. ts been closed for at least 10 years.. now newly reopened.. and really, really nice.  We were celebrating both my alwmsot birthday and friend Jen’s just had birthday.. Great to hang out

Now time for bed.. almost 9 pm… makes up for 2:30 aAM last night 🙂

Thursday night Smile muscles

Oy.. my smile muscles hurt so much !.  .. Diane and I just came back from a GREAT Joe Russo show at higher ground. We met up with our friends Ellen, Paige and Randy.. Like all jam bad things the room was full of folks both older and and half our age.. I love that. joe is a drummer thats played with Further , Micke Gordon, Trey A and other Jam Band monsters. He and his band were really, really tight as they played a ton of Grateful Dead favorite.. so tight that sometimes  your had to wonder if we were really listening live !

seriously. m smile muscles really ache.. . nothing is as transcendent for me than live music.. really nothing..

Wednesday Night – Vorpmi

Today was the opposite of yesterday.. no Improv about it.. in fact the opposite of Improv.. (which is Vorpmi !)..

I did not have to do one spontaneous thing or think one spontaneous thought . I had no one critiquing me or asking me to pretend to throw  fake bowling balls..or describe imaginary pictures.

It was comfortable .. but rather boring given the excitement of the last two days..

I guess one needs a little of both to appreciate the other.
