Sunday night -Bread and Puppet

Diane and I are making sure that we stretch every last warm and sunny day of this summer. Yesterday we went tubing in the Winooski with Ellen and Will.. today we drove up to Glover to see Bread and Puppet.   Bread and Puppet is a political tether troop started by Peter Schuman in 1963 !!! Peter was still there calling the shots.   We have gone many times over the years.. and I think todays agent was one of my favorites.

The place was jammed with folks of all ages.. but I dare say not all political persuasions. B&P s definitely for us more left leaning folks. The topics discussed today were a nice mix of fun and serous.. from political action committees, to the media to global whamming and gun violence. there were several mall events to begin… Diane and I walked around and took them in.. trying to dodge the wicked hot sun as we did. We ran into many friends from all over.. Homer and Mary .. i even ran into my buddy Paul Zaloom.. who has been associated with B&P for ages.

Around 3 The pageant began.. It  is composed of many skits.. all done using giant paper mache masks, stilts and a great band. The actors keep it fun and moving.. so colorful.. and meaningful..

Here are some pics fro the day

afterwards… as always, they handed out whole grain bread and home made aioli.. my pores are still steaming with garlic..

I left inspired and tired

Speaking of tired.. only a couple of hours to sleep.. so going now..

nite all, nite sam
