Super busy day.. getting ready for a big conference next week. I did have to take some time off because… gulp.. my drivers license had expired on my birthday last week. I have a fancy enhanced license that lets me cross into Canada without a passport. Replacing it means going in person and taking lots of proof of ‘me-ness’..

I was lucky, though. it wasn’t busy.. i was able to get in and out in only 30 min (and ran into my buddy RJ in the process). One thing that affected me deeply was all the signing in there supporting the organ donation check box. The signs were everywhere..

made me happy and sad thinking about Sam.

I gave the nice lady who processed my forms a Sam stone.. and atold her about Sam and how his organs helped save four people. She said she’d keep  it on her desk.. .. might get a few more folks to sign up..   you never know.

Just had a great post-yoga experience. In auditor to our normal soup group.. Diners freind Beth lead us through something called Soul Connection.. I remember hearing it as Soul Collision.. so thats what stuck in my brain

th idea was easy.. we all went through stacks of old magazines and cut out pictures and made little 5×7 collages. Then we looked at what we created and told everyone the story we had in mind.. It was like being in kindergarten again.. so great !

then we lined them all up like a gallery and took turns describing them 

 

it was surprisingly fun and meaningful..

Good productive day… I took advantage of a few Long calls to finish the code for my IOT connected Tesla coil. I was able to create a midi interface to know the red and use that to drive my tesla coil from a “keyboard” that was hosted on the IBM IOT cloud. Useful? I don’t know. Fun ?… heck yeah !

 

This evening I went into town to  visit generator and to  meet my friend Jarrod. We hung out in stone soup for a while and half of Burlington came in and talk to us.  We had great conversations with pathologist, waitresses, music impresarios, singers, artists… That’s why I love this place

During a break from our socializing I went down to the washroom and as I was appreciating  the plumbing… I noticed this particular tile on the floor. Middle of the top row Doesn’t it look like a face? I see faces everywhere…and tile, wallpaper, clouds… I guess I’m just a social guy.

Took a break today to celebrate Valentines day.. yes.. I know it’s a commercial creation .. but I love, love , love  thinking about love..   And I am truly grateful to be surrounded by so much of it.

(Nice to be really surrounded by it when it’s -17F outside 🙂

something about the light on this very cold morning just lightened my heart. 

 

Diane and Jean had had the very good idea to bring all of our wedding albums with us.. some we had a great time looking through the past, reviewing hair styles and clothes.. seeing old friends and family.. missing those no longer with us.. it was so sweet
