שנה טובה everyone.. Happy 5777 !

We had a good new year.. .. for the most part it was a normal workday.. but it was special since my mom was in town.  It’s a time to reflect on the past year and look forward to the coming one.

My mom found an apple that had fallen from a tree at the shelbourne museam and we dipped it in honey . to bring on a sweet new year.  I hope its a sweet year  for you and yours ..

This afternoon i took a break and  took my mom  to get her bus back to Boston. (yes.. my 83 year old mom loves taking the bus) .. on the way to the bus we stopped at UVM to grab lunch..

Mom  had tuna.. and I had a burritto.

… and guess how much my Burritto was ?

$7.77 !

.. a rip off.. but a miracle at the same time.. this year is 5777 in the hebrrew calander.. Coincindence ? I dont think so.. it’s a Kahbalistic message of alignment.. !!!

and it was also a damn good burrito !

Long pretty day..

Mom’s in town .. we mostly hung out.. around 1 we met up with freinds at the AFSP (american Federation for Suicide Prevention) ‘Out of Darkneess ‘ walk at Oakledge park. THere was a big gathering there.. and we were there to support our freind Puckett who died  in December of last year.

 

it was a moving gathering.. lots of peope there who had lost soemone to suicide. there  were

pairs of shes there for the more than 100 people who took their own lives in Vermont last year.

 

our good freinds brad, silas and dylan were there for Puckett too..

 

ifound this great picute of Puckett on my phone today. he helped paint our house last year.. Right after that he moved to Florida.. and it there that he took his own life. We miss him so much !

 

It was good hanging out and hearign from many speakers who’d lost loved ones

 

we left there as folks headed out to  walk..  It was sad.. but also nice seeing so many folsk coming together..

 

We left there and went to check in on Deb and Diane who were geettign Deb’s shop ready for it’s helth department inspection tomorrow. Diane spent the whole day helping.. my mom and I spent a an hour an ahlf..

 

then we headed to the shelburne museam.. I loved some of the wind sculputre that was there.

 

there was a nice exhibition of Grandma Mosis paitings (hey.. i think I paitn that well !)

 

and a wonderful exhibit of circus posters.. 

 

we had about 45 minutes left to check out the museum.. the light was pretty cool .

now it’s Erev Rosh Hashona.. . New years eve for Jews…  the begining of 5777 !

Beutiful fall day.. Just hanging around the house. My mom is up visiting which is really nice. She and i took the dogs up to Preston Pond loop where we got the first real feeling of fall. The air was cool and the few bright leaves we saw really stood out in the grey air.

 

 

 

 

 

Mom took us to a great turkish dinner with gabe tonight

 

 

Enjoying my jet lag.. Only fell asleep twice on the couch today..
