Monday night – Snow day / Pi day

It’s Pi day (3.14) and we finally a real snow storm..

The snow was almost up to our twoer 🙂

OK.. so note really  that much.. We’ll end up with just over a foot of snow by the time it ends. but  i think it’s the biggest in 2 years.. but by Vermont standards,. its not that much.   I stole an hour from work in the afternoon to go out for a ski with Diane..

too much snow for Yoga tonight.. but never too much snow for Pi day !

ok.. early morning tomorrow.. so I’ll end here.

Monday – waiting for snow

Sitting here waiting foe the snow to start .  Folks are telling us we’re in fore a HUGE storm.. which means at least 3 inches :-)/ it reminds me of being a kid in Houston. The bigger the Hurricane that was coming.. the more we worked to protect our house. I remember my parents using masking tape to protect the windows. The more we prepped the more likely the storm was to fizzle..

if we spent hours taping the windws.. we’d get a lught wind. if we did nothing to prepare, holy heck woudl rain down

I for one welcoem the Nor’easeer. we need snow. I’ve been tellign diane if we have another non snowy winter liek the last two.. weve gott move north !

Bring it on !!!

Sunday night – Time zoned

Happy daylight savings time. We had a funny incident last night. Right before going to bed Diane saw on the Internet that  last night was going to be”spring forward” that was lucky fine because Gabe had a 6 AM flight this morning out to Vancouver. He’s on his way to Whistler School trip. Because we had to wake up so early, so I took it off of automatic and manually set the time ahead. I thought we were all safe. I woke this morning at what I thought was 4 AM bu because it was so early I was  kind of confused but saw my phone indicating it was 4 AM. Just to be sure I check the Internet but found out that it said that the Time was 3 AM. I figured I had gotten it right the rest of the world was off. I was about to go wake up Gabe when I thought for a moment and walked downstairs. They’re all of the clocks showed 2 AM. It looks like my phone had tried to do me a favor and even though I had manually advanced it,… And take it off of Automatic adjust.… It manually advanced it again.

All’s well that ends well though. I was able to get Gabe to the airport by a quarter of five, Drop them off and get home by 515. I was asleep by 520. Gabe made all of his flight even with tight connections and he and his baggage are now comfortably their way to Whistler

Time for me to spring forward to my bed

Saturday night – attunement

We found a very interesting way to spend a very cold day (high of 8 degrees F with high wind)

We all attended a Reiki attunement  taught by our friend  Sharon in our yoga space.   It was an 8 hour class with a break for lunch . . Reiki is a ahnds on energy healing modality developed in the 19th century in Japan. ..

Todays lessons were fun and strange. The  7 of  us did a a few  hours  of meditating.. and got soem very cool instruction on how to do Reike ourselves. . The lessons were around chakra positions, hand positions and the general mindset needed to channel a persons energy to help them heal. I don’t really understand how it works.. but I can say that it was very helpful to all of us in the years after Sam died.

Sharon is an excellent teacher. She guided us as as we tried what we’d learned on each other… Really fun and satisfying !

diane made a delicious lunch.. it was fun getting to talk about what we’d learned so far.

very satisfying day.. now to sleep !
