Sunday night – Falling slowly

woke at 5am and got on the road by 6 to head home from endicott. It was warm muggy and rainy  the whole way.. Nice time with Diane in the car.. Leaves were slowly changing.. but so late.. i cant recall this many green leaves this late in the year..   A few breaks of sun gave us some small rainbows.

we were home by noon.. so decided  to take the dogs out for a longish hike in the unseasonably warm weather.. we headed up to the history trail at little river a few mikes down route 2.   Looks liek they have bears too.. (ours has been gone for a while)

it was a perfect day for a hike.. but it was more like mid summer than fall. Normally this weekend would be peak foliage anbd cool .. instead it was mostly green and about 70 degrees !

we love seeing the history signs spread around this 4 mile trail.. .. we always say ‘hi’ to Almeron and Lutheria

there’s is the only building still standing on Ricker Mountain.

hard ot imagine these hills were once cleared and populated.. .. there were even cars up here in the early 20’s

i love walkign these old town roads that were last used almost 100 years ago.. ]

soem leaves near the top were changing.. but still it was earily green for this time of year.. what does it mean ? ]

we checked on the 27 foot deep well we always see..

and we stopped by one of the ancient cemeteries up in the woods.

here’s the old foundation for a silo

foudn an inchworm on one of the signs ..

nice juxtaposition

we stopped by the dam on the way out..

really nice day.

now too sleepy to stay awake.. more tomorrow

nite all. nite sam
