tuesday night – whirlwind day in Budapest.

spent last night and all of today in Budapest.. one of my favorite cites in Europe.. first time I was here in the late 70’s.. I remember (vaguely 🙂   getting woken up by a policeman with machine  gun for camping on a park bench on the Citadela.. It was a very different city then.. it’s still got remnants of that faded last century. but the city is really beautiful …elegant and so friendly..

arrived last night to find all the streets downtown blocked.. this morning woke to find police everywhere.. there was a meeting of 14 prime ministers.. including the PM of China, gathered here.. they were taking no risks..   the streets were so blocked that it took us 30 minutes to cross the street to catch a cab.

Peter was my host..

and Elvira was my ‘handler ( ewhere ever I go in the world i have a wonderful communications person like elvira with me to say “what John REALLY Means is…. 🙂

we hafd a crazy busy day.. first a meeting with the minister of transport.. then a meeting  with media.. then a presentation at a major trade show.. then a client meeting,.. then round table with professors and Budapest university.. then a talk for students. It was great being back at the university.. I was here n 2012 and 2013 .. this is the3 home of Gabor Denes.. the inventor of the laser.. in fact there are more Nobel prize winners per capita in Hungary than any other country !

I loved all of it..

the student talk was my favorite..  thye were a wonderful group !!!!

then a quick visit to the funky airport lounge.

and now back in my hotel in Munich..
