Had a kind of mixed day today with a few ups and downs… Nothing major. The biggest downer… And it was expected… Is that I didn’t qualify for the top flying status level for United Airways. I had flown so much over the last couple of years that I was in a non-published special class of service they gave me some really nice perks… I got kind of spoiled.
Getting that news was kind of a funny feeling. I realize that by stepping away from the Nsame travel I was doing that I would get more of my life back… It’s kind of funny to see things like this are the very few things that I’m losing. All in all a good trade off
Finish the evening with a very nice reception in Waitsfield for my friends Julie and bill who had just come back from Bhutan. Julie’s pictures were really amazing !
As always Jleigh and Ville’s parties are a mix of very fascinating people. I ran into Margaret… A woman From the Boston areaWhose family i know well. I had just had dinner with her brother and sister-in-law on Tuesday night. How’s that for a small world?
Now going to settle down for a long winters nap. The temperature is hovering around -3 Fahrenheit and going much lower tonight. Bundle up everybody
Just got home late tonight after being in Cambridge all week. The drive home was nice… Light snow. When I got within 10 miles of home though the snow really started coming down and the roads were almost impossible… By the time I got home the snow had become knee-deep.… It’s beautiful!
The high tomorrow is only supposed to be 6°F… I think winter is finally here… And I’m glad
My mom called me today (Friday 1/11/19) and told me that my blogs were missing for Wed and THur.. I checked.. and sure enough.. neither were there. I found that the upload of my Thursday blog on my phone had failed for soem reason. I can only assume the same thing happened on Wednesday. The trouble is.. I cant recall what I wrote about.. it’s totally unnerving.. as I make a point every day to sit back and think before I write..
What happened that day ? ..
I lwent for a great but cold run by the river, then headed to work, where I learned of a family emergency in a friends family, I had a ton of phone meetings, thin a good but complicated meeting with friends at MIT. My dinner plans had been with my friend who had the family emergency.. so I didn’t’ have a plan for dinner. I went back to my room and worked until about 9 when I realized I had eaten. I walked out and got a salad at chipotle.. then came back… an worked some more. Around 1-:30 Gabe and I spent about 45 minutes working on a programming project via FaceTime.. which was good fun..
then I went to bed and re.d.
thats it.. I wonder if thats what I wrote about before.. ?
I was sitting in a meeting today paying close attention (??? 🙂 when I got a facebook notification from our friend Shawn B. He’d jsut posted a bunch of pictures from his middle school days.. mist have been 13-14 years ago. In there were pictures of so many of our friends.. looking just like I remember them..
and there were pictures of Sam. some I’d never seen. it still takes my breath away when I see a picture or soemthign Sam worte that I’d never seen. It made me happy and sad lookign at them.
